[Looking for a job] English slag + resume slag, I finally found a job

Come to America for a year. The English is still scumbag, and the programming is a little basic. I have interviewed 20 or 30 internships, and all of them were rejected. Finally, at the end of August, only a scumbag company asked me to do an internship for a month. I started looking for fulltime in September. I only got a few interviews because my resume was sloppy, and I received an offer from F. I was lucky. Thanks for the experience shared by the big cows in the field, and the experience shared by the scumbags, they have helped me a lot. The predecessors planted the trees and the later generations enjoyed the shade. After diving for many years, I finally found the next job, wrote a summary, gave back to the organization, and made some envy.

This post is suitable for readers : students who have no clear concept of looking for a job, that is, students who are looking for a job scumbag. I'm also a scumbag. I really can't tell my personal background and job hunting experience, so I won't write it. Share some experience as a past person, I hope it can be helpful to the working scumbags.

1. Time point. If you graduate in May of the following year, it may be a bit late if you start to vote in December. The suggestion that a senior gave me is this, and the test is good. In August, invest in small companies; in September, in small companies, invest in big companies you don’t want to go to; in October, in big companies you don’t want to go, invest in dream companies; in November, dream compnay. On the one hand, the battle line is too long and the scum can't hold it. Four months is almost the right time. If you can't find it after four months, it is estimated that you won't be able to find it. On the other hand, who can stand it as a boss when you come up, it is the last word to fight mobs and level up equipment first.

2. Take the interview. A Stanford classmate said that there was only one sentence " stanford  CS Master" written on LinkedIn, and then HR calls came in an endless stream. But for a resume scum like me, let alone HR contact me, no one will take care of you if you write a cover letter online and submit your resume. Not to mention Haitou. So try to find an insider. There are a lot of people in one acre of three-point land and mitbbs who provide internal referrals, and it is good to contact seniors on LinkedIn. When sending an email to someone, in addition to your resume, it is best to include information such as self-introduction, the position you want to recommend, and why you are suitable for this position. The seniors on linkedin don't know each other, but they basically replied and helped with internal push.

3.Career Fair. It is the best chance for fresh graduates to get interviews. Career Fair is not as simple as putting out a resume, or you can just submit it online, why come to the scene? Although HR will accept all resumes, it will mark some resumes or put them in a small pile according to the on-site communication of the career fair, and then arrange interviews for these people, and the others will be thrown into the trash. So it is necessary to prepare well to participate in the career fair. How to prepare for career fair can refer to the cc book http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-Coding-Interview-Programming-Questions/dp/098478280X

It would be great if there were better schools near the school, and there must be better companies coming from Career Fair. You can also participate in their career fair. The best offer we got in our school last year was the interview we got at the career fair of the next great school.

Classmates who are English scumbags like me must be more worried about phone interviews. Then the Career Fair is even more important. Get OnCampus directly onsite, and there is no electricity in the whole process, which is simply the gospel of English scumbags.

4.Behavior problem. Self-introduction, project introduction, common behavior questions, company situation, questions to ask the interviewer, etc. See this post for details

5. The basic knowledge of network, operating system, compilation and other basic knowledge will not be reviewed, but it is better to spend some time reviewing it than to be rejected because of the results of the test. See this summary

6.  Brush questions . Leetcode is too conspicuous, just pay the fee, it is not easy to find so many questions. I only did leetcode, and I did it four times, and the topics were basically familiar. In the first two times, the position of some brackets and semicolons is still unclear; but after the fourth time, it is very stable. It takes five minutes for ordinary questions and ten minutes for complex questions. Basically, you can write it correctly every time.

I didn't prepare well for OODesign. I just did the corresponding chapter titles in CC. I was asked twice and the answer was shit.

Final summary. I came to the United States for a year, got a diploma, and learned nothing. I learned a sentence in the process of looking for a job. It is worth it. It is worth 300,000 yuan in tuition a year. I will share it with you. "Americans believe that individuals (you!) can make a huge difference.".
