Requirements for the publication of academic papers by applicants for a master's degree in Beijing Institute of Technology

In order to further improve the education level of postgraduates in our school, ensure the quality of degree conferring, encourage original innovation of postgraduates, and guide and promote postgraduates to publish academic papers reflecting the results of their dissertation work in high-level academic journals, the following regulations are specially made for postgraduates to publish academic papers:
 

1. Basic requirements for applying for a degree and publishing an academic thesis

 
1. Applicants for doctoral and master’s degrees must meet the requirements for publication of academic papers by applicants for doctoral and master’s degrees in the discipline. For details, see Annexes 1 and 2.
 
2. Publishing one paper in the journals "SCIENCE" and "NATURE" can meet the basic requirements for applying for a doctoral degree.
 

2. Description

 
1. The content of academic papers (including other achievements) published in these regulations should be closely related to the applicant's dissertation work.
 
2. The academic papers published in these regulations must be the first author of the applicant (if the supervisor is the first author, the applicant can be the second author), and the first signed unit is Beijing Institute of Technology; science and technology awards must be the first signed unit Beijing Institute of Technology; authorized patents must be the first patentee of Beijing Institute of Technology.
 
3. Published academic papers in these regulations refer to academic papers that have been officially published (including online online), and one academic paper is allowed to be accepted. Academic papers that are in the state of acceptance need to submit an acceptance letter with a certain volume and issue number, a receipt for layout fee and the manuscript; The copyright transfer signature and article proof provided by the publisher.
 
4. In these regulations, SCI refers to the English abbreviation of "Science Citation Index" in the United States, and its full English name is: Science Citation Index, including the online version; EI refers to the abbreviation of "Engineering Index" in the United States, and its full English name is: Engineering Index. SCI, EI source journals and SCI impact factors are subject to the latest announcement before the date of receipt of academic papers (if there is no date of receipt, the date of publication).
 
5. The "core journals" in these regulations refer to "Overview of Chinese Core Periodicals" (Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Work Research Association of Peking University Library, Beijing University Library, Peking University Press) and "Chinese Science and Technology Journal Citation Reports" (China Science and Technology Information) published annually by the Institute). The latest version before the date of receipt of the academic paper (or the date of publication if there is no receipt date) shall prevail.
 
6. If the applicant does not meet the basic requirements for publishing an academic thesis, the degree evaluation sub-committee can review and approve the dissertation defense. After the defense is passed, the applicant can graduate. However, the degree evaluation committee will not review the degree for the time being. Within two years of graduation for doctoral students, and within one year of graduation for master students, after publishing academic papers that meet the basic requirements, I can apply for review of their degree, and applications overdue will not be accepted.
 
7. This regulation has been implemented since 2012 for the postgraduate students who entered the school, and the applicants with the same academic ability have been implemented since 2013. Applicants for professional degrees in our school are not required to implement this regulation.
 
8. The interpretation of these regulations belongs to the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the school.





(Information and Electronic Degree Evaluation Subcommittee)

1. Optical Engineering:

Publish at least 1 international conference paper indexed by core journals or EI.

2. Instrument Science and Technology:

Publish at least 1 international conference paper indexed by core journals or EI.

3. Electronic Science and Technology:

Publish at least 1 international conference paper indexed by core journals or EI.

Obtaining 1 authorized invention patent can replace 1 paper published in a third-tier journal.

4. Information and Communication Engineering:

Publish at least one EI journal source paper or EI indexed paper (the top three).

Obtaining 1 authorized national or national defense invention patent is equivalent to publishing 1 EI journal source paper or 1 EI indexed paper.

5. Control Science and Engineering:

Publish at least 1 EI journal source paper (accepted).

Tutors are ranked first and students are ranked second, and can be regarded as the same as students who publish papers.

Authorized 1 invention patent (top 2) is equivalent to 1 EI paper.

Applying for and accepting 2 invention patents (top 2) is equivalent to 1 EI paper.

6. Electrical engineering:

Publish at least 1 EI journal source paper (accepted).

Tutors are ranked first and students are ranked second, and can be regarded as the same as students who publish papers.

Authorized 1 invention patent (top 2) is equivalent to 1 EI paper.

Applying for and accepting 2 invention patents (top 2) is equivalent to 1 EI paper.

7. Computer Science and Technology:

Publish at least 1 international conference paper indexed by core journals or EI.

8. Software Engineering:

Publish at least 1 international conference paper indexed by core journals or EI.


(Science and Materials Degree Evaluation Subcommittee)

1. Physics:   

One of the following conditions is met:

The first author (the supervisor needs to be named) has published 1 paper in a journal or conference;

Publish 1 paper in an SCI source journal with an impact factor above 2.0 (no ranking limit, 1 paper can only be used by 1 postgraduate student);

Apply for 1 invention patent (rank first or tutor first, student second), which can replace 1 SCI indexed paper.

2. Biology, Pharmacy:

One of the following conditions is met:

Published 1 paper in a Chinese core journal;

Publish 1 paper at a conference indexed by SCI source journals, EI source journals, SCI or EI.

3. Chemistry:

One of the following conditions is met:

Published 1 SCI or EI indexed paper;

Apply for 1 invention patent;

The theoretical chemistry track does not require published papers.

4. Materials Science and Engineering:

One of the following conditions is met:

Published 1 paper in a journal or conference;

Apply for 1 invention patent or utility model patent.

5. Chemical Engineering and Technology:

Publish 1 paper at a conference indexed by SCI source journals, EI source journals, SCI or EI.

6. Environmental Science and Engineering:

Published 1 paper in core journals and above.

7. Mathematics, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering:

Public publication of academic papers is not required.

(Sub-Committee on Mechanical and Transportation Degree Evaluation)

 

Published 1 academic paper.

(Subcommittee on Degree Evaluation of Humanities and Social Sciences)

 

1. Law, Philosophy (Ethics), Philosophy (Philosophy of Science and Technology), Marxist Theory, Pedagogy, Psychology, History (Modern Chinese History), History of Science and Technology, Theoretical Economics, Business Administration, Applied Economics :

Publish 1 paper in a professional academic journal as the first author (including the first tutor and the second student).

 

2. Art and Design:

Publish 1 paper (including works) as the first author (including the first tutor and the second student), or win the excellence award of international and national professional competitions (top three), or win the provincial and ministerial level and professional associations The third prize or above of the competition (the top two).

 

3. Management Science and Engineering, Public Administration, Foreign Languages ​​and Literature, Library Information and Archives Management:

Public publication of the paper is not required.
