Adverse effects of vitamin E

Adverse reactions are rare. However, it has also been reported that when the daily dose is 2000-12000 mg, some patients may experience reproductive dysfunction, creatinuria, gastrointestinal discomfort, fatigue, and lower extremity edema. Contact dermatitis occurred in individual patients after topical application, which disappeared after drug withdrawal. When the dosage reaches 1200 mg, individual patients will experience prolonged clotting time. Therefore, in patients who are being treated with benzylacetone coumarin, the use of vitamin E may cause bleeding. It has been reported that long-term oral administration of large amounts of vitamin E can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, chapped, cheilitis, angular cheilitis, and gastrointestinal disorders. Women can cause menorrhagia, amenorrhea, and sexual dysfunction. It can be seen that vitamin E is not a panacea, and it cannot be taken as a non-toxic health care drug for a long time and in large quantities.
