Talking about FastReport.Net report style

In this article, I will talk about the use of FastReport.Net report style. In fact, most people underestimate the power of the style function, arguing that styles help group documents into a unified category. Almost every user who has faced the Microsoft Word text editor also knows that styles help to instantly change the appearance of objects (like headings). FastReport .Net also allows styles to bring consistency to individual objects or groups, and the practice of styles greatly speeds up report development.

So, open the report designer with the toolbar Stiles on the Home tab:

style tag

There is a drop-down list that allows you to select the current style. To apply a style, you need to select an object or group of objects, then select the desired style from the drop-down list.

To open the style editor, use the icons from the drop-down list below:

In the style editor you can add, delete and edit. In addition to that, it is possible to save a set of *.frs style files and then load styles from this file to create another report. This is very helpful if you are developing with the same style and a large number.

Styles allow you to:

  • Set the object frame. This can be the overall frame and one or more line options. The style, thickness and color of the lines can also be defined;
  • Set the fill color. This can be not only a solid color, but also a gradient or shadow;
  • Set the font. You can habitually set the font size, style, change;
  • Set the font color.

For example, to apply styles to header data in a master-detail report:

Bands also have attribute styles, which means that custom styles can be applied. We turn our attention to EvenStyle, with which we can set styles and even rows in the form.

Create another style with a light gray fill, select the data strip (detailed strip data), select Create Style for the EvenStyle property, and preview the report:

This is a simple and effective method, so using styles in the report will speed up the creation of the report , achieve a unified design of the report object, and improve the appearance of the list through the EvenStyles property .
