Mac, Windows can be remote from each other

 

You can remote a Windows desktop from a Mac; a Mac interface from Windows; and even a Mac or Windows from iOS or Android.

For the operation method of Windows, take Windows XP SP3 as an example, and for Mac system, take OS X 10.9.2 as an example.

MacRemote Windows

Relatively speaking, it is easier to remote Windows from Mac. You only need to make the Mac computer and Windows computer in the same local area network, and turn on the option of allowing users to connect to the computer remotely in the Windows computer to realize Mac remote Windows.

1. Right-click My Computer on your Windows computer .
2. Select " Properties " in the right-click menu .
3. Click the Remote tab.
4. Select the " Allow users to connect to this computer remotely " check box.
   
5. Click OK .
6. Log in to your Mac computer. In the Finder's Applications list, double-click the Remote Desktop Connection icon.
   
7. In the Computer field, type the IP address of the Windows computer you want to remote, and then click Connect . 8. In the Remote window, enter your Windows computer's username and password. If after connecting, it prompts " You cannot log in due to account restrictions ". Windows Remote Mac

Compared with the simplicity of remote Windows from Mac, remote Mac from Windows is relatively more complicated. Generally, you need to use third-party software to achieve this. 1. Go to Splashtop's official website to download and install Splashtop Streamer and Splashtop Personal apps for Mac and Windows respectively .
   
   
   
2. After installation, first open Splashtop Streamer in Mac system
3. Log in to Splashtop at Splashtop Account Login in the Status menu . If you don't already have a Splashtop account, click the " Don't have a Splashtop account? Create one " link to sign up for a Splashtop account today and log into Splashtop Streamer.
   
4. In the Windows Start menu, find the Splashtop Personal application.
5. In the pop-up window, enter your Splashtop account. This account must be the same as the account logged in on the Mac system.
   
6. Once you have successfully logged in, you will see the Mac using Splashtop Streamer in the list.
   
7. Double-click the name of the Mac computer to officially start the remote Mac.

Remote Windows, Mac or Linux on other systems

In fact, since Splashtop is a cross-platform application. So just install Splash Streamer on your Windows, Mac or Linux computer. Then you can install the Splashtop app on the device you want to remote from. This way you can remote on iOS, Android, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Windows Phone, Windows, Mac, Linux, Kindle Fire.
