mac external monitor often not responding

1. Problem description

Some time ago, a friend gave me a green-link three-in-one converter (hdmi high-definition interface + usb interface + charging interface). After a while, it can be reinserted, but sometimes it takes a day or two to reinsert it before it can be used.

2. Ways to reduce unresponsiveness

After using it for a while, I found that every time before the laptop goes to sleep, unplug the hdmi cable, then unplug the converter, and then let the computer sleep, this method can reduce the problem.

Now, I mainly use this method to avoid the problem of the display not responding:

When you need to shut down the computer, follow the following sequence: first unplug the hdmi cable from the converter -> unplug the converter from the computer -> put the computer to sleep

When turning on the computer, the sequence is reversed: turn on the computer -> plug the converter into the computer -> plug the hdmi cable into the converter

Solution

I searched on the Internet and found a solution (Note: I have not tested it, and now I use the above method to avoid it, and occasionally use another converter of mine)

  1. Need to unplug DP cable before boot
  2. Press and hold shift ctrl alt and the four keys of the power button for 15 seconds to reset the screen
  3. Then start up, then plug in the video cable again,
