I think a few words are the main meaning of the description, but the enumeration in the book will make it easier to understand these theories.

The pyramid principle has two core ideas.
ROCKS
One of them is the MECE (mutually exclusive and collectively) rule. Not overlapping and not missing, that is, they are independent of each other and do not overlap, but together they are completely exhaustive and not omitted. Don't forget things, don't do useless work.
1. When encountering a problem, analyze the problem layer by layer from top to bottom
For example:
weight loss -> purpose, duration, effort
made effort made -> diet, exercise, learning something new
2. When solving problems, start from bottom to top, starting from small problems, until you reach the top of the tower. Or from bottom to top, collect arguments, summarize the central idea, that is, reach the top of the tower.
Problem solving is most effective when there are clear goals at each stage.
3. For the leader, from top to bottom, for each question, propose 3-5 branches at the next level and assign them to the subordinates. After the subordinates are completed, they will be assembled and arranged to construct the engineering plan pyramid. Management will be much easier.
4. When the subordinates report to the leader, the time is short, and the central idea of the spire needs to be stated and the grassroots arguments are listed. Long time, can be graded discussion. Emphasize key points and be justified.
5. When narrating relatives and friends, list the details first, and then summarize the central idea. Do not express your thoughts after narrating like a running account, so as not to be misunderstood.
6. For asking others for help, it is best to list all the reasons at once. Don't say a word, can you do me a favor? Are you there? just started. Say the reason and what you want to help, and give the other person enough leeway to choose whether to help you or not.
7. When trying to reason with a lover, especially straight men of steel. 请大方的摆出你的中心思想, Don't display grassroots arguments in a narrative, don't say straight men, no one can jump from your grassroots to your top. The reason is the same as 5
8. Writing ideas, from top to bottom, outline the outline; from bottom to top, fill in gradually
