Abstract: This article will teach you how to activate CDN service, add acceleration domain name and bind CNAME
Step 1: Activate the CDN service

Quickly learn about the product on the CDN product details page of Alibaba Cloud's official website , and then click Activate Now.

Select the appropriate billing method on the order page , confirm the order, and the CDN service will be activated.
Step 2: Add CDN accelerated domain name
- Log in to the CDN console , select the domain name CDN domain name list, and click Add New Domain Name. (The source content is in OSS, please select the source site type: OSS origin site, and set the OSS external domain name as the origin site)
1. Select the domain name list page
In the upper right corner of the page, click "Add New Domain"
Note: A user can add up to 20 domain names. If the old domain name is no longer used, it is recommended to delete the record directly.
2. Fill in the basic information
and enter the acceleration domain name, select the appropriate origin site, determine the business type, and determine the acceleration area (only supports Alibaba Cloud members above L3) adddomain-basic
1. Speed up domain name
- The entered domain name must be filed, and the domain name that is being filed cannot be accessed.
- Supports generic domain name acceleration, but does not support Chinese domain name acceleration. Please pay attention to the rules for filling in generic domain names such as: *.test.com. For detailed rules, please read the generic domain name acceleration rules.
- Acceleration domain names are not allowed to be added repeatedly. If you find the "domain name has been added" problem, please submit a ticket for processing.
- Each account supports up to 20 accelerated domain names.
- The content of the domain name must comply with the CDN business specifications. For more information, please refer to the chapter on restrictions on the use of CDN services in the CDN User Manual
2. Select the business type in the table below:
Description of business type| Image small file acceleration | If the accelerated content is mostly pictures and web files, it is recommended to use small picture files to accelerate |
| Large file download acceleration | If the accelerated content is a large file (generally, static files over 20M belong to the category of large files), it is recommended to use large files to accelerate the download |
| Video and audio on demand acceleration | If the large file is a video file, it is recommended to use the video streaming media acceleration method to accelerate the video-on-demand and live broadcast services. |
| Live Streaming Acceleration | Provides live streaming media acceleration services. Currently, it supports RTMP and HLS live streaming acceleration. The live streaming service type does not support custom origin sites. Currently, the live streaming center server is provided uniformly: video-center.alivecdn.com |
| mobile acceleration | The wireless acceleration products launched for mobile applications provide intelligent domain name resolution, wireless protocol optimization, dynamic content compression, operator-level optimization and other technologies to improve the network quality, availability and user experience of mobile applications. |
Notice:
- Before adding a domain name, please ensure that the domain name can be accessed normally. When the content of your origin site is not in OSS, the content information of the acceleration domain name will be checked manually to see if it complies with the restrictions on the use of CDN services.

3. Origin site type: IP, origin site domain name, OSS domain name, live center server (only for live streaming media service types)

Notice:
- When the origin site type is a domain name, the origin site domain name is not allowed to be the same as the acceleration domain name; if a user requests a resource and the corresponding content is not cached on the CDN node, the CDN node will return to the origin site to obtain it, and then return it to the user. If the acceleration domain name is the same as the domain name of the origin site, the request will be repeatedly resolved to the CDN node, and the CDN node cannot go back to the source to pull the content. Therefore, it is recommended that if the acceleration domain name is: example.aliyun.com, the origin site can consider src.example.aliyun.com for distinction.
- Select OSS as the origin site, and be sure to use the OSS external network to access the domain name
- Supports custom origin back-to-source port, optional port 80 or 443; port 80 supports HTTP protocol back-to-source; port 443 provides encrypted and secure HTTPS back-to-source, and port 80 is selected by default
- CDN back-to-source does not currently support SNI
4. Select the acceleration area (open for users above L3)
- According to the acceleration business needs, select the appropriate acceleration area: mainland China, pure overseas acceleration (no domestic nodes) or global acceleration, understand the distribution of CDN nodes
- Note: The traffic fee generated by overseas nodes is higher than the domestic traffic fee. For more information, please read the purchase guide
- About filing: Mainland China and global acceleration must be registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. If you choose pure overseas acceleration, you do not need to file with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
3. Confirm the information
After confirming the basic information and domain name configuration information, click Finish. The completed domain name will appear in the list. Click "Manage" or the domain name to modify the domain name configuration.
Note: The configuration will take effect only when the domain name status is "normal operation".
Step 3: Bind the CNAME
1. Get the CNAME domain name
Get the correct CNAME domain name, the CNAME console domain name list shows:
2. Query the domain name status
The domain name configuration needs to be distributed to all nodes in the entire network, which may take 15 minutes.
3. Correctly configure DNS resolution
Please go to the domain name DNS service provider to complete the CNAME configuration
4. Verify that the domain name has been CNAMEd successfully
If the acceleration domain name you added is redirected to *.*kunlun.com domain name, it means that CDN is serving your website.
