Aurora Big Data recently released a report showing that the high salary of programmers is not a legend, but the work is also relatively hard. Over 30% of programmers work more than 50 hours a week, and the money is mainly spent on the house. In addition, 70% of programmers are unmarried, and 40% are still single. When choosing a mate, they pay the most attention to appearance. For them who "love learning", it is not easy to stay in the first-tier cities!



01 Over 70% of programmers in first-tier cities are renting

The survey shows that compared with other occupations, the proportion of programmers who own a house is not high at present. Probably because most of the programmers are still young and work longer hours, so many programmers tend to rent near the company.


In the matter of owning a house, programmers in new first-tier cities have won. Thanks to the high salaries and housing prices that are significantly lower than those in first-tier cities, the housing ownership rate of programmers in new first-tier cities is 27.7%, while that of programmers in first-tier cities is only 13.3%. Over 70% of programmers in first-tier cities still rent.



02 70% of programmers are unmarried, and 40% of them are still single

According to the survey, less than 20% of programmers aged 22-30 have completed the major life events of getting married and having children, and more than 40% are still single.


Female programmers are less likely to be married than males. However, 39% of the female programmers surveyed are currently in a relationship, which is higher than that of men.



03 Spouse selection criteria: appearance is the most important!

The survey shows that compared with the overall respondents, the interviewed programmers pay more attention to appearance, hobbies and educational level.


They are the least concerned about family background and economic level, nor do they particularly care about hukou, height and job nature. 



04 High salary is not a legend that Shanghai programmers have the highest income

The survey shows that nearly half of the programmers earn more than 10,000 yuan before tax. Compared with other occupations, the overall income level of the interviewed programmers is higher, second only to the income level of the middle and senior managers of the enterprise.


Among them, the overall income level of Shanghai programmers is the highest, and 16.9% of Shanghai programmers have a monthly income of 20,000 yuan or more. The programmers in Guangzhou and Chengdu earn less than 10,000 yuan for more than half of their monthly income.



05 Over 30% of programmers work more than 50 hours a week

Programmers have high wages, but they are also relatively hard. According to the survey, the interviewed programmers work an average of about 47.5 hours per week. 44% of programmers work 41-50 hours per week, and 33.5% of programmers work more than 50 hours per week.


Among them, Shanghai programmers are the hardest, with the longest working hours per week on average. Shenzhen programmers are relatively idle, with 28.6% working 40 hours or less per week.



06 Where do programmers spend their money?

The survey shows that programmers in new first-tier cities have higher housing expenses because of the higher rate of self-owned housing, and programmers in new first-tier cities spend 22.1% of their expenditures on mortgage/rent payments.


Programmers in first-tier cities spend 16.9% of their monthly expenses on financial management, and 21.2% of their expenditures are spent on high housing costs in first-tier cities. Programmers in second-tier cities tend to spend more money, with 25.4% of their monthly spending on shopping or entertainment.



07 Programmers' concerns: wages and buying a house

What is the programmer group "worried" about? 41.4% of the programmers are worried that the salary will be difficult to improve, 41.1% of the programmers think that there is pressure to buy a house, and 38.5% of the programmers are worried that their personal ability cannot be improved at work.


Among them, 51.1% of the interviewed female programmers are worried about the pressure of buying a house, and at the same time, they show more pressure than male programmers on the improvement of personal ability, elderly care and salary;


34.5% of the male programmers surveyed expressed concern about personal health issues, and expressed more concerns than female programmers about love and marriage issues.



08 Spare life: supplement knowledge + play games

The survey shows that supplementing work knowledge and playing games are the characteristics that distinguish the programmer group from other groups in the arrangement of their spare time.


42.5% of programmers choose to supplement their work knowledge in their spare time. After long hours of work, 47.7% of programmers choose to sleep at home and watch dramas. 40.7% of programmers choose to play games, and some programmers choose to party with friends, Exercise, go out to play, etc.



09 Career planning: Is it difficult to take root in first-tier cities?

According to the survey, programmers in first-tier cities have the lowest proportion of wanting to take root in the local area. Only 49.1% of programmers in first-tier cities plan to take root in the current city, while 74% of programmers in new first-tier cities and 65.1% of programmers in second-tier cities are willing to take root in the city. local.


In first-tier cities, 28% of the interviewed programmers plan to go to other cities to live and develop, and 22.9% plan to return to their hometown to live and develop.
