After a year of blogging, what have I gained

Why blogging and blogging well

Before I knew it, I found myself blogging for a year!
Thinking about it now, why did you start blogging in the first place?
See a lot of awesome people blogging?
See a blog that is very touching?
Or are you just thinking about taking notes?
In fact, I have all of these, but the most important thing is to simply take notes. Record the problems and solutions you encountered before and use them as a blog. Of course, this kind of blog has no technical content and no beautiful layout, so few people read it. . .

So after writing a few blogs, I looked back at my blog and found a few problems.

  1. The layout of the blog is really ugly... I feel like I can't stand it anymore;
  2. The explanation of the blog is a bit messy, and there is no good plan for where I want to write it;
  3. After writing the blog, I found that the number of clicks was really too few, which was a blow to the mood of blogging;

After I found this out, I made the appropriate corrections.
The first is the typesetting of the page, but it took a day to learn the typesetting of the blog, but I found that the effect is not obvious. Later, after I learned about the Markdown syntax, it gradually improved.

Then every time I write a blog, I make an outline first, mainly around the three elements of purpose, process and result . However, in the past, I liked to post codes and pictures, and I had little understanding of myself, so the reading effect was not very good. Later, I gradually increased my understanding, so it seems to be barely okay.

After resetting the layout and planning of the page, I found that the number of clicks on the blog has gradually increased, and there are gradually likes and comments. These have also become a big motivation for me to write a blog. Even this is vanity, but seriously, it feels so good to be recognized!

It has been exactly one year from the first blog on 2017-04-01 to my last blog on 2018-03-31. During the year, a total of 67 original blogs were published, an average of 5 per month. Thinking about it now, there is still a little excitement and a sense of accomplishment. I have written so many blogs! ! ! I'm also glad I was able to persevere and write so many blogs.

I sometimes wonder, if I hadn't blogged, would I be better at my technology?
Then think about it and find out, probably not. After all, I don’t feel like I have a lot of perseverance...
So, after writing a blog for a year, has the technology improved a lot?
Not much, just a little...
First of all, it is estimated that some people on the Internet say that blogging can be very big. Improve technology.
Here I can speak from my own feelings. In fact, blogging does not greatly improve technology, because blogging takes a lot of time. If you have this time to learn technology, you may actually be able to specialize in deeper research. But if so, then why blog about it?
In fact, here is an example to illustrate:

Xiao Ming is a programmer. He wanted to learn a certain technology after he found a certain technology while browsing the technology website on the weekend. But after fiddling with it for a long time, I found it too difficult to understand, so I simply made a demo and then it was gone.
Xiaogang is also a programmer. He also wanted to learn a certain technology after he found out that a certain technology was very cool when he was visiting the technology website on the weekend. So he fiddled around, and after a long time, he still only had a demo, but he wanted to write a blog about it, so he continued to study it until he understood it, and then wrote the understanding at the moment on the blog. Although blogging also took a lot of time, he felt it was worth it.
Note: The above examples are compiled by myself. If there is anything wrong, please do not laugh.

In the above example, if Xiaoming and Xiaogang spent the same amount of time studying, it is very likely that he would learn better than Xiaogang, but in fact, Xiaogang mastered it better than Xiaoming because Xiaoming gave up. The reason for giving up is simple, there is no motivation. And Xiaogang can better grasp it, just because he has the motivation to write a blog. So here I think that blogging can't greatly improve your mastery of a certain technology, but it can promote you to master this technology .

After blogging for a year, I found that I really gained a lot.

First, the ability to write documentation has been improved. Because the notes I made in the past were just reading by myself, I didn't pay attention to many aspects, and the reading experience was not good. However, after I started blogging, I consciously paid attention to this aspect, and the documents I wrote at work were often used as templates in the department.

The second is to improve the attitude of learning. In the past, it should be passive learning from school to work. In school, you just do homework. If you don’t assign it, you will not take the initiative to learn. After work, you are still interested at first, and then slowly just for work. At work, there is no motivation for active learning. Now it is slowly changing, and I will start to learn some new technologies and the like.

Improved logical thinking ability again. Maybe some people here don't quite understand, why does blogging improve logical thinking ability? Because the blog understands something and then tells it about it. After all, if you don’t understand it yourself, how can you make others understand it? (ps: In fact, I still have a lot of things I haven’t explained yet…)

In the end, it opened my eyes. Generally speaking, people who often write blogs will also often read blogs, and there are many big cows among them. You can learn from them and so on. When writing a blog, sometimes my understanding may not be explained clearly or there are some mistakes. At this time, if a careful classmate finds out, he may put forward unnecessary opinions or point out these mistakes, which is also part of self-growth.

After talking some nonsense, I summarize the gains as follows:
- Turn your own notes into everyone's notes
- From passive learning to active learning
- Improve logical thinking ability
- Broaden your horizons
