Familiar with hardware description language syntax, you don't need to know everything, but you must remember several classic timings and description methods of logic circuits.
Familiarize yourself with three classic circuit descriptions and simulations. Learn to grab data with a logic analyzer. The three classic circuits are frequency divider, counter (which can be used as a clock), and sequence detector.
Run a light on the board, familiarize yourself with the use of clock resources on a board, and the principle of hardware use.
FPGA learning is not primarily about programming. There is no such thing as programming at all. Verilog is a hardware description language! When writing logic, you must have a circuit diagram in your mind, knowing that FPGA mainly learns hardware and algorithms.
