Abstract: The same chain ratio is one of the most common needs in data analysis. Let's introduce the display of the same chain ratio in detail!
In the report analysis, it is often necessary to compare the data year-on-year, and then combine product promotion and competitiveness analysis to analyze the internal reasons for data changes to formulate better marketing strategies. The following example describes how to display year-on-year and month-on-month:
1. Create a dataset
Upload a local file: sell sample data , create a dataset.
2. Create a crosstab
Create a new dashboard to add a cross-tab control, and add month, area, order_amt fields to display the monthly order amount in each area:
3. Add the same date field to the filter/query condition
Also add the month field to the filter/query condition, and select the date range that needs to be calculated year-on-year/month-on-month:
4. Set the metric to display the year-on-year/month-on-month ratio
As shown in the figure below, click the switch button of metric aggregation mode - year-on-year/month-on-month-month-on-month, and click to update the chart:
Add the order_amt field to the measure again to show the year-on-year, update the chart:
The above shows the year-on-year information on the order amount in each region from 201402 to 201602.
Notice:
1. The filter/query condition needs to include the date dimension filter condition calculated on a year-on-year basis, otherwise it will prompt an error:
2. The chart date dimension field and the filter/query condition date field must correspond to the same.
