The solution to the vi input direction key will become ABCD under Ubuntu

Under Ubuntu, the vi input direction key will become ABCD. This is the vim tiny version that is pre-installed in Ubuntu, and it can be solved by installing the vim full version.

Uninstall vim-tiny first:

$ sudo apt-get remove vim-common

Install vim full again:

$ sudo apt-get install vim

Then we were pleasantly surprised that it was back to normal.
