VCenter Notebook System Installation

vSphere

Introduction to vSphere

  1. unnamed.png

Three important points

  1. vSphere is vCenter machine virtualization

  2. NSX Network Virtualization

  3. Virtual SAN Storage Virtualization

Products and Technologies

  1. ESXI traditional concept of hardware direct installation system, one hardware server installs one system, and ESXI product, after installing ESXI on the hardware, manages hardware allocation resources through ESXI, and then installs multiple systems

  2. vCenter Update Manager is based on vCenter update management

  3. Centralized management of all ESXI hosts in vCenter Server

  4. vSphere Client and WebClient When users access vcenter with a browser, WebClient provides services and vSphere client is responsible for linking esxi

  5. vRelalize Orchestrator builds automated processes to automate various vCenter services

  6. vSMP (Multi-Virtual CPU)

  7. DRS (Balanced Utilization of Storage Resources)

  8. Storage and Network IO control (similar to QOS) the QOS of network storage and network in the entire virtualized environment

  9. vSphere Stroage APIs For Data Protection(VADP)

Support file-level backup and recovery, support incremental and complete backup

  10. VSAN is a new software-defined storage layer, which can logically form a complete storage space VSAN for all ESXI host storages

A file may be stored separately on ESXI host A and host B during storage

    Untitled 2.png

  11. vSphere Replication

Users can copy virtual machines from one vSphere environment to another vSphere environment.

  12. Flash Read Cache

Flash memory read caching technology makes the vSphere environment better identify and support SSDs and improve the usage of SSDs (expand the upper limit of memory, use SSDs as memory. Note that only SSDs can be used)

Features only supported by vCenter

  1. VM template

  2. Role-based access controls

  3. finer granularity control

  4. vMontion Migration Migration between virtual machines within a group

  5. Dynamic resource allocation

  6. HA (cold standby)

  7. FT fault tolerance (hot standby)

  8. EVC (Enhanced vMotion Compatibility)

  9. Host Profiles

  10. distributed switch

  11. IO control of storage network (qos)

  12. Storage Dynamic Resource Control

Authorization for vsphere

  • Licensing by Physical Server Processor

  • Unlimited number of virtual machines

  • Unlimited physical resources

Example: The user has two dual CPUs (each with 6 cores) Each CPU needs one license, and the user needs to purchase 4 licenses

The specific parameters of each version can be downloaded from the official website

Introduction to vCenter

  1. Central management tool

  2. Works like a proxy

  3. central integration point

  4. Many advanced features of vSphere must be done in a vCenter environment

  5. Windows version and Linux version

Two installation methods of vCenter

  1. Complex application deployment on windows server

    VMware-VIMsetup-all-6.5

  2. A linux version of the virtual application, providing quick and easy deployment, built-in SUSE linux is a vcenter application, this is what we call

    VCSAVMware-VCSA-ALL-6.5

The underlying services provided by vCenter

  1. Centralized user authentication

  2. web-based client server (web version client access server)

  3. Inventory system (catalog service, integrated management of ESXI)

  4. Extensible framework (extensible framework, mainly extending OpenStack)

The above underlying services are not core servers, but are indispensable

Select vCenter

  1. application on windows server

    VMware-VIMsetup-all-6.5

  2. The linux version of the virtual application provides fast and simple deployment, requires a springboard, and has built-in SUSE linux which is a center application, which is what we call it

    VCSAVMware-VCSA-ALL-6.5

The difference between the two vCenters

  1. Database (SQL for Windows, Oracle for Linux)

  2. Windows supports heartbeat for HA between vCenters, but Linux does not.

  3. VCSA integrates DCHP, TFTP, Syslog, etc., but can only run in a virtual machine.

Design vCenter for high availability Different components can be deployed centrally or distributed using different technologies

  1. SSO components: HA Cluster, Multisite two protection methods

  2. Inventory Service component: HA-enable vSphere cluster mechanism can be used

  3. Protecting vCenter Server: Windows uses Heartbeat; Linux can only be reinstalled

  4. vCenter Database: DB tools or component Database Cluster

Install vCenter (linux version, springboard win7) Usually, we install vCenter on an ESXI host through a windows, the following are the specific installation steps for the linux version

  1. Hang the ISO image to the springboard

    Untitled4.png

  2. Start the springboard, open the CD-ROM drive and copy all files locally

    Untitled 5.png

  3. Install vCenter Go to the vcsa-ui-installer folder, select the win32 folder, and run the installer file

  4. The first stage

    Introduction

    Untitled8.png

  5. License agreement, accept it

    Untitled 9.png

  6. Select the deployment type, multiple distributed deployment of components or embedded deployment. Under normal circumstances, we deploy on one server, and you can choose embedded deployment.

    Untitled 10.png

  7. Fill in here to install vCenter on the ESXI server, fill in the server address and username and password here

    unnamed.png

  8. Fill in the name and management password of the vCenter virtual host below. This username and password are the system root password.

    unnamed.png

  9. Choose the size based on your needs and the license you purchased. Note the server resources required for each type.

    unnamed.png

  10. Choose a storage location.

    unnamed.png

  11. Configure vCenter networking

    unnamed.png

  12. Once complete the next step is to aggregate the first stage configuration. No problem select finish and start installation

    Untitled 1.png

    Untitled 2.png

  13. The installation is complete, it will take about 15-20 minutes for the installation to be too long

    unnamed.png

  14. Then start the second installation configuration

    unnamed.png

  15. Configure the device including NTP service, you can fill in the official ntp

    ntp.png

  16. Then configure sso, sso is the authentication mechanism, which is the authentication method that users need to log in during web management. The form is username@domain name, and the site name is arbitrary. Web management can also use the server's underlying root login.

    sso.png

  17. Step 4 can be left blank to view the configuration in the next step, and click Finish to start the installation.

  18. until the installation is complete

At this point, vCenter has been installed, log in to the ESXI server installed in vCenter, and you can see that a virtual machine is automatically added.

The above is an introduction to the installation method, the address is a temporary address, the actual introduction of my environment

Log in to the vCenter server through a browser, and you can use the sso account and domain name created during installation to log in in the form of administrator@sso domain name

After login, the interface is as follows
