The latest Vultr registration and VPS purchase tutorial in 2018

Xiao Bian wanted to build a VPS for a long time, and just bought a Vultr VPS by testing the free streaming opportunity. Today, I will introduce you how to buy a Vultr VPS. There are also tutorials on the Internet, but they are a bit too early. And it's not comprehensive enough. Below I will introduce in detail how to register Vultr, register Paypal, bind UnionPay card, establish VPS, etc.

Vultr is a well-known cloud service provider. There are 15 self-operated data center computer rooms in the world. Vultr VPS all use KVM architecture SSD solid state drives, which are not oversold, guarantee performance, support linux and windows, and can also upload their own ISO.

Go to the official website to register: https://www.vultr.com

The minimum configuration is only 2.5 US dollars per month (equivalent to about 15 yuan), and Vultr is charged by time. If you delete it, the billing will stop, which is very reasonable.

【Step 1: Register an account】

Official website address: https://www.vultr.com

After opening, fill in your email address in the position shown in the figure below, and set a password. After filling in, click "Create Account".

Note: Passwords require at least ten characters and must contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.

Then your mailbox will receive an activation email from Vultr, click "Verify Your E-mail", as shown below

After the activation is completed, we will log in to the account and enter the background, a clean and concise full-English interface, the sidebar translation is shown in the figure below

First, we enter "Billing" (bills), click "Paypal" (Chinese name PayPal), here we choose to use Paypal to recharge (currently supports Alipay), you can also choose other methods. The credit card seems to be using a dual currency card as we are buying Vultr in USD, the "Gift Code" is for redemption offers, there are currently no offers available, check to see if any offers are currently available.

Click "Paypal", select the amount (USD) to recharge to your Vultr account, then click "Paypal with Paypal"

If you don't have a Paypal account, don't worry, here is a tutorial for Paypal registration and card binding, please continue after finishing

After logging in to the Paypal account on the pop-up interface, after checking the bill, click "Agree and Continue", and then you will receive a bank SMS notification of the deduction. At this point, the money is recharged to your Vultr account, and you can buy a VPS next. Here I topped up $1 for the demo.

【Step 2: VPS purchase】

Click the blue plus sign on the right side of the Vultr backend to enter the purchase page

To buy a VPS, first choose the location of the computer room. I recommend choosing one of the following: "New York (NJ)" (New York), "Los Angeles" (Los Angeles), "Singapore" (Singapore), "Tokyo" (Tokyo). Among them, currently only the New York computer room has a $2.5 plan.

Choose a VPS system. If you know what you are buying a VPS for, you will know which one to choose. Here I choose "Debian 7".

Buy the configuration you need

There are free IPv6 addresses and free intranet IP optional, paid automatic backup and paid DDOS protection optional, you don't need to choose this page if you don't understand

Fill in the host name, preferably in English, and click "Deploy Now" to create a VPS.

On the "Servers" page, you will see a newly created VPS

Click the "..." to the right of the server status, and you can see in the drop-down menu:

"Server Details" server details;

"View Console" console;

"Server Stop" shutdown;

"Server Restart" restart;

"Server Reinstall" reinstalls the system;

"Server Destroy" Destroys the server.

VPS management interface

At this point, the VPS purchase is complete. If you don’t need the VPS to delete (destroy) it (the billing will stop).

The windows platform generally uses Xshell for remote connection. Please check here for download and usage tutorials: https://www.banwago.com/1944.html .

When installing, choose home/school use, you can use it for free, you don't have to look for a cracked version.

Happy to use!
