Zenoss Community Edition stops development

Zenoss has announced that they will be shutting down the Zenoss Community Edition , which has been in development for 15 years , and the company will instead develop Zenoss Cloud.

Zenoss Community Edition is a free and open source application, server and network management platform based on Zope. It provides a web interface that enables system administrators to monitor availability, configuration, performance, events, and more. It was originally called Zenoss Core and was released under GPL2.

The first version of Zenoss Community Edition was released in November 2006, more than 15 years ago, and has been downloaded millions of times. Open source monitoring tools in use.

But since they launched Zenoss Cloud in 2018 and it was a huge success, Zenoss Community Edition hasn't been updated for two years, and the last update was in 2019. It can be seen that the company's development focus is no longer on the Zenoss community edition.

Zenoss said in the official blog, "Zenoss Community Edition has been a great success in many ways, and it has played an important role in the company's development. But the company cannot be satisfied with the status quo and needs to adapt to the needs of customers." So they Shift development focus to Zenoss Cloud.

Zenoss Cloud is an AI-powered full-stack monitoring platform that collects all machine data to prevent service outages in complex modern IT environments. Zenoss Cloud leverages powerful machine learning and real-time analytics of streaming data to deliver AIOps, empowering businesses to scale and adapt to the changing needs of their business. According to the officially announced plan, Zenoss Community Edition will be retired on March 31st.
