In recent years, chicken welfare breeding has attracted more and more attention. Expressing the nature of animals is one of the definitions of animal welfare. Ensuring that chickens have a suitable space for movement and enough aerobic exercise can ensure that they have the nature of animals, which has a positive impact on the egg production and meat quality of chickens. There are more large-scale farming models on the market than intensive farming. The living environment of chickens is relatively harsh, and even the entire growth process has been in a state of "still sluggishness". Such a growth environment will affect the meat quality of chickens to a certain extent, and may also cause disease infection. , causing huge losses.

In the 2021 National University Biological Internet Design Competition, the "Chicken Running Team" has developed a "Smart Chicken Raising Assistant" in response to the above problems, using IoT technology to monitor the growth environment of chickens in real time and achieve refined management , automatically adjust the environmental state and improve the environmental defense capability; the purpose is to solve the drawbacks of traditional free-range and large-scale farming, and on this basis, focus on welfare farming, urge chickens to exercise regularly every day, and improve chicken quality.

"Growing Up With You Smart Chicken Raising Assistant" is based on the Wanou Creation Development Board and the OneOS operating system, and realizes the smart chicken coop based on the IoT device-edge-cloud architecture. It is mainly divided into the following devices:

Environmental detection device: The sensor and external sensor that comes with the Wanyu development board are used as end nodes for environmental perception, and they are expanded. CO2 and ammonia gas sensors and cameras are connected to make the perception dimension of the environment richer. . As an edge node, the development board writes code to achieve data acquisition, processing, analysis and transmission. Through wifi communication, the OneOS terminal-cloud integration component is used to upload the information to the OneNet platform to realize data sharing. The OneOS terminal-cloud integration component can shield complex communication processes, simplify connection operations, and enable devices to enter the cloud faster.

Sensors collect data

Air quality adjustment device: When it is detected that the air quality in the cage is not up to standard, the Wandu Chuangshi development board gives the pin a high level to control the two fans in the same direction to automatically start for a period of time to cool down heat and reduce humidity.

Automatic feeding device: The feeding device can be timed and quantitative. By controlling the speed of the rotating motor, it can accurately realize the precise and economical feeding of chicken feed and save costs.

Movement adjustment device: To detect the indicators of the chicken's living state, two rotating shafts and a baffle are installed in the cage. When the rotating shaft rotates, the baffle pushes the chicken, promotes the movement of the chicken, and enhances the quality of the chicken. Real-time monitoring through the internal environment of the digital chicken cage; automatic detection and processing of abnormal conditions, automatic control and maintenance of the whole life cycle, and protection of the basic life of chickens.

In addition, the "Chicken Running Team" has also developed a large background data screen. After logging in, the administrator can directly enter the data display page, which mainly displays the number of chickens in different growth stages and the environmental data change diagram of different chicken cages, and provides an overview of the amount of exercise/ Exception information, etc. are recorded, and you can see an overview of the overall data and related details.
