GParted 1.4.0 released, partition management tool

GParted is a graphical dynamic partition management tool for Linux that manages your disk partitions graphically. GParted can be used to create, delete, resize, move, check and copy disk partitions and their file systems.

This release of GParted includes enhancements, bug fixes, and language translation updates.

Major changes include:

  • Added labels for mounted btrfs, ext2/3/4 and xfs filesystems
  • Fixed detection of mount points for encrypted filesystems
  • Fix crash when scrolling fast in drive selection combobox
  • Add bcache detection
  • Added JBD external EXT3/4 log detection

bug fix

  • Fix unmount error when unmounting below bind mount point
  • Added initial Indonesian translation in help
  • Add accessibility to screen readers like Orca
  • Make more getters use return-by-constant-reference
  • Check the copy destination instead of the source
  • Fixed translation of DocBook markup tags for GParted manuals
