oracle desktop version remote connection

oracle desktop version remote connection

When we install oracle, we can choose to install the desktop version, which has lower requirements on computer performance, is more convenient to get started, and reduces the complicated installation steps.

I opened a new win7 virtual machine in VMware to install oracle12c, which needs to involve the remote connection of the local oracle client to the virtual machine oracle server. Some blogs on the Internet say that the desktop version of oracle cannot be connected remotely. After verification, I have come to the conclusion: the desktop version of oracle can be connected remotely. If you want to connect with me to realize the remote connection function of the oracle in the local virtual machine. If you do, please come down with me.

Steps

1. We need to configure the tnsnames.ora file in the oralce installation directory on this machine. The approximate path is: D:\oracle_app\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora, create a new connection here, The above ip is the ip of the remote oracle server of the virtual machine, as shown in the figure below:
Configure the tnsnames.ora file in the oralce installation directory and the remote connection of the oracle desktop version
win7_ORCL in the figure above is my new connection, which can help me connect to the oracle database through the virtual machine ip address, and the connected database is orcl.

2. Next is to configure the listener of the oracle server and the tnsnames.ora file in the win7 virtual machine. The configuration of this step is because it is written as localhost and cannot be used for ip monitoring. It has to be changed to an ip address. It is actually very simple. You only need to virtualize in win7. The installation path of the machine oracle: C:\app\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN modify the two files listener.org and tnsnames.org. to sum up

After the above two steps, you should be able to connect the local oracle client to the virtual machine oracle server, and this is a desktop version connection. I searched a lot of blog posts on the Internet, but I didn’t find any relevant answers. I’m doing it now. After verification, make a small record. I hope this blog can help you. I am also grateful to many blogs and tutorials on the Internet for helping me answer many of my questions. I will also follow you on the road of knowledge sharing. Thank you for your footsteps! I am also very grateful to you who are reading this blog at this time. Your encouragement is the unremitting driving force for my progress. I am the dark horse Jack. I hope to grow up with you on the road of programming!
