What is PV?

PV stands for Page View, website views, refers to the number of page views, used to measure the number of pages visited by website users

Each time the user opens a page, the PV is recorded once, and the page views are accumulated when the same page is opened multiple times. Generally speaking, PV is directly proportional to the number of visitors, but PV does not directly determine the actual number of visitors to the page, just as a visitor can create a very high PV by constantly refreshing the page.
Specifically, the PV value refers to how many pages of a certain website or a certain page have been viewed by all visitors within 24 hours (from 0 to 24). PV refers to the number of page refreshes, and each page refresh counts as one PV traffic.

The measurement method is to send a request to the web server from the browser. After receiving the request, the web server sends a page corresponding to the request to the browser, thereby generating a PV. So here as long as the request is sent to the browser, no matter whether the page is fully opened (download completed), then it should be counted as 1 PV.

What is UV?

UV stands for Unique Visitor, the number of unique visitors, refers to the number of people who visit a certain site in a day, based on cookies or tokens

Multiple visits by the same visitor within a day are only recorded as one visitor. There are two ways to judge the UV value by IP and cookie.

Use Cookie to analyze UV ​​value:
When the client visits a certain website server for the first time, the website server will send a Cookie to the client computer, which is usually placed in the C drive of the client computer. In this cookie, a unique number will be assigned, which will record some information about the visit to the server, such as the time of the visit, which pages have been visited, and so on. When you visit this server next time, the server can directly find the cookie file that was put in the last time from your computer and update it, but the unique number will not change.

What is VV?

VV stands for Visit View, the number of visits by visitors, which is used to record the number of times that all visitors visit the website in a day.

When the visitor completes all the browsing and finally closes all the pages of the website, he completes a visit. The same visitor may have multiple visits in a day, and the number of visits is accumulated.

What is IP?

IP is the number of independent IPs, which refers to the number of times users with different IP addresses visit the website in a day. No matter how many pages are visited by the same IP, the number of independent IPs is 1.

It should be noted here that if two machines access the server and use the same IP, it can only be regarded as one IP access.

There is not much difference in the data between IP and UV. Usually, the sum of UV is a little higher than the amount of IP, and each UV corresponds to an actual viewer more accurately than each IP.

① UV is greater than IP

In this case, different users in Internet cafes, schools, companies, etc., where the same IP is shared, or multiple different browsers access the website, then the number of UVs will be greater than the number of IPs.

② UV is less than IP

In the general home network, most computers use ADSL dial-up Internet access, so when the same user visits the website at different times at home, the IP may be different, because it will change the IP according to the time, that is, the dynamic IP address, but the actual number of visitors is unique , There will be a situation where the UV number is less than the IP number.

Calculating PV
PV refers to the number of views. The PV number is equal to the sum of 2 pages viewed in the morning and 3 pages viewed in the afternoon, that is, PV = 2 + 3 = 5.
Calculating UV
UV refers to the number of independent visitors. Multiple visits by the same visitor in a day are only counted as 1 UV, that is, UV = 1.
Calculating VV
VV refers to the number of visits of the visitor. There is one visit in the morning and one in the afternoon, namely VV = 2.
Calculate IP
IP as the number of independent IPs, because the IP is different each time for ADSL dial-up Internet access, that is, IP = 2.
