FreeBSD 13.0 first Beta version released: NUMA optimized

The first Beta version of FreeBSD 13.0 has been released . In addition to adding and upgrading hardware drivers, the update also includes other optimizations. For example, continuous optimization of the Bhyve hypervisor, better support for the ZFS file system (OpenZFS 2.0), and many other daily tasks.

In addition, some of the new features include incorporating WireGuard-supporting code into the kernel, significantly improving NUMA performance (including kTLS offloading support for certain NICs), DRM graphics driver updates from Linux, and network performance optimization.

FreeBSD 13.0-BETA1 installation images can be used for x86_64, PowerPC 64 (including LE and PowerPCSPE), AArch64, etc. It is suitable for multiple target platforms from common to PINE64 and ROCK64. Common RISC-V 64-bit images are also supported.
