LibreOffice 7.1 Alpha will be tested soon, 7.1.0 will be released in February next year

In September, LibreOffice has released version 7.1 notes, previewing the new features in 7.1, including some editing features, new spreadsheet features, and new dialog box Additions.

This week, LibreOffice 7.1 released the first Alpha version, which will be frozen one month later and the Beta version will be released. The release of the candidate version will continue until December and January next year. LibreOffice 7.1.0 is expected to be released in the first week of February next year.

Currently, LibreOffice 7.1 Alpha version is available through daily build binaries and Git .

Writer

  • Added a new Writer Outline folding mode (as an experimental feature). Click the button with the arrow next to the title to collapse all text from the current title to the next title. Right-click it to fold all the text from the current heading to the next same level heading with the same subheading.
  • Several table formulas for Word interoperability have been added.
  • A style inspector has been added to display all attributes of paragraph style, character style, and manual formatting (direct formatting) attributes.

  • Input fields can now be switched via View ▸ Field Name.

Calc

  • New spreadsheet function.

Impress & Draw

  • Add the visible signature to the existing PDF file in Draw.
  • Impress now allows to change the animation of multiple objects at once.
  • The demo console now has an "Exit" button.
  • The demo console now has a "Pause/Continue" button.
  • Realistic soft blur shadows are added to objects.

  • Added new physically-based animation functions and new animation effect presets using them. That is to simulate a fall, shoot left/left and return, fall and disappear gradually.

Core / General

  • New dialog: Additions

In various places, it should be possible to get more content from external storage, such as macros or templates. This requirement can now be met through the "Additions" dialog.
