The virtual machine vmware installs a 64-bit system, prompting "This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled"

Use the virtual machine VMware Workstation. After creating a new virtual machine, a VMware Workstation pop-up box appears when running: This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.

Prompt information:

The virtual machine has been configured to use a 64-bit guest operating system. However, 64-bit operations cannot be performed.

This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.

If Intel VT-x has been disabled in the BIOS / firmware settings or the host has never restarted since changing this setting, Intel VT-x may be disabled.

(1) Confirm that Intel VT-x is enabled in BIOS / firmware settings and "Trusted Execution" is disabled.

(2) If one of the two BIOS / firmware settings has been changed, please restart the host.

(3) If you have never restarted the host after installing VMware Workstation, restart it.

(4) Update the BIOS / firmware of the host to the latest version.

Solution

Look at the tips above and it's a good solution: just modify the BIOS settings directly

Take the Thinkpad T460P computer as an example:

1. Shut down, power on, press F1 during today's BIOS setup page;

2. Select Security, then select Virtual ization and click enter to enter the function,

3. Select Intel (R) Virtualization Technology in the new function, this option should be disabled (off);

4. Change disabled (off) to enabled (on);

5. Save the settings, click F10, exit after saving, restart OK
