How to activate the old electrolytic capacitor？？？
1. Use a multimeter to block the electrolytic capacitor to be activated. When the forward resistance is zero or very small, the
electrolytic capacitor has been broken and scrapped. Electrolytic capacitors other than this can be activated.
2. After soldering the electrolytic capacitor, first add half voltage. Taking 450V electrolytic capacitor as an example, the mains voltage can be adjusted to 130V. At this time, the DC voltage at both ends of the electrolytic capacitor is 130Vx1.4=180V, and it is activated for 24 hours.
3. Then disconnect the AC power supply and use a 5W300Ω resistor to overlap the discharge at both ends of the electrolytic capacitor. Be sure to discharge it.
4. Use the capacitance meter to measure the recovery of the capacity. Generally can recover about 60%. If the capacity is not recovered at all, it can be basically judged that the electrolytic capacitor has been broken.
5. Adjust the voltage to 220V. At this time, the DC voltage at both ends of the electrolytic capacitor is 220Vx1.4=300V. Continue to activate for 24 hours. At this time, the capacity can be restored to 90%~100%.
6. Adjust the voltage to 350V. At this time, the DC voltage at both ends of the electrolytic capacitor is about 350Vx1.4=490V, and continue to activate. 48 hours or 72 hours. There is no limit to the number of electrolytic capacitors that can be activated each time.
The electrolytic capacitor that has been activated by the above can generally recover to the nominal capacity and the drain electrode is small.
Ways to activate large capacity electrolytic capacitors
1. Add 20% of rated voltage, work for 1 hour, then power off and discharge;
2.add 40% of the rated voltage, work for 1 hour, then power off, discharge;
3.add 60% of the rated voltage, work for 1 hour, then power off, discharge;
4.add 80% of the rated voltage, work for 1 hour, then power off, discharge;
5.add 100% of the rated voltage, work for 1 hour, then power off, discharge.
