Fedora Workstation 39 ships with the GNOME 45 desktop environment, LibreOffice 7.6 office suite, LLVM 17 compiler stack, and many other updated packages available.
Fedora 39 also comes with various toolchain upgrades like GCC 13.2 and GNU Binutils 2.40, Glibc 2.38, and other updates like Python 3.12 and RPM 4.19. Fedora Onyx will also be officially unveiled as an immutable variant of Fedora with the Budgie desktop.

On November 6, 2003, the Fedora Project released Fedora Core 1. Twenty years later, Fedora Linux 39 is officially released, a complete community operating system built for desktops, laptops, servers, cloud, edge devices, and any other device you can think of.
Fedora Workstation now features GNOME 45, which brings better performance and many usability enhancements, including a new workspace switcher and a much-improved image viewer.
If you're looking for a different desktop experience, the Budgie Special Interest Group has created Fedora Onyx, an "atomic" desktop based on Budgie in the spirit of Fedora Silverblue.
Of course, this is not all, the system also provides KDE Plasma desktop, Xfce, Cinnamon and other desktops.
Fedora cloud images will be generally available on Microsoft Azure (in addition to Google Cloud and AWS). Additionally, our cloud images are now configured to cloud-init (of your choice) install updates and reboot on first provisioning, so you know you are running the latest security updates.
As always, Fedora 39 updates many, many other packages, including gcc 13.2, binutils 2.40, glibc 2.38, gdb 13.2, and rpm 4.19. It also has updates to popular programming language stacks, including Python 3.12 and Rust 1.73.
In particular, the system includes the latest version of Inkscape, a popular vector graphics illustration and drawing tool. Inkscape also turned 20 yesterday.
