Abstract: General non-professional GIS applications usually use the boundary spatial data of provinces, cities and other administrative divisions for analysis. This article briefly introduces how to download the spatial boundary data of provinces, cities, districts and counties on the Internet in shp format, and introduces a good The online data conversion tool used, and open source.
1. First, go to the map selector website provided by Alibaba Cloud and select the administrative area ( link ) you want to download . The website provides data in json format, which is polygonal geospatial data in GeoJson format. Taking Henan Province as an example, if Henan Province is selected, the json api link of the border of Henan Province and the json api link including the sub-region of Henan Province will be generated. Here, the sub-region only provides two levels, that is, the selected level and the next level:
2. Then, enter the json api link in the browser, you can see that the data format is very regular json data, right click in the browser and save it as json format data, such as this article is saved as 410000_full_henan.json;
You can also directly copy the Json text through the copy button provided by the website, paste and save it as a json format file by yourself;
3. Finally, convert the obtained geospatial data in json format into shp data or other formats you want. There are many ways to convert. Since the obtained administrative area element data is not very large, it can be directly converted online. This article introduces the use of an open source online conversion tool ( link ), which can support the conversion of multiple formats, including Shp, GeoJson, TopoJson, DBF, CSV, basically includes commonly used geospatial data formats, and is relatively simple and intuitive to use.
