SCRUM vernacular four: burndown

Burn down chart translated into burndown chart or burn, the very image, Scrum is an indicator of progress in demonstration projects. I always thought that the user story, the daily stand up meetings, burndown, sprint review, sprint retrospective is really the more refined the taste of good things, so it's like scrum this way, these simple and effective practice, classic!

Burndown sample as follows:

The abscissa work date, remaining ordinate estimated workload, each point represents the estimate of the residual amount of work that day, all of the starting points are sequentially connected by a fold line is formed to estimate the trend remaining workload. There is also a control line, for the initial estimated effort to end the connection dates, generally with different colors painting the top two lines.

This figure judged rules are as follows:

(1) If the trend line in the control line, progress smoothly, there is a relatively large probability on schedule or ahead of schedule;

(2) If the trend line above the line of control, indicating a relatively high probability postponed, this time need to focus on the progress.

Note that the trend line is not always down, there may be up, that miscalculation or omission occurred tasks, the estimated remaining work is also likely to rise in the day.

After the opening 15 minutes daily stand-ups, updated burndown by the scrum master according to the progress. The first project is a point estimate of the initial effort, the first two points are the initial estimate by subtracting the amount of work the first day of work of the task has been completed, and so the subsequent calculation of points. What task is completed when is it? Criteria are as follows:

(1) Developer detection: All test cases by unit;

(2) Product owner Detection: Product owner through all the functional test;

Burndown is best to post on the board, so that everyone could see the rise of project team members, so give us a clear visual effect, each person at any time we can see how far away from the target.

Burndown can paint every day, indicating the completion progress of a trend iteration, an iteration can be the end of the painting, progress trends indicating the completion of the project, this time the horizontal axis is the sequence number of iterations.

Earned Value burndown and traditional project management theory in view of relatively more simple and intuitive, this design won the essence of management! A measure of the essence! People really admire!
