What is Scrum burndown chart?
Burndown before the project is completed, the kind of work required to complete the task of visual representation. It can display the image of the trend remaining workload and working time remaining in the current iteration, the reaction is an indicator of the progress of the project.
FIG burn a Y-axis (the remaining work) and the X axis (time). Ideally, it should be a downward curve, with the completion date of the advance and the remaining work being "burned out" to zero. But in reality, due to various reasons burndown will always be a trough or peak.
Burndown rules:
(1) If the actual line below the "reference line" progress smoothly
(2) If the actual line over the "reference line", delays the task description
In practice iterative development, burndown there will be many cases take different forms, but also reflects the different issues in the iteration, we can find the problem by burndown in a timely manner, optimization work to ensure timely completion of development tasks
Normal burndown generally similar to the following:
Note: The actual line fluctuations and small fluctuations in the vertical reference line is normal
Under this burndown chart, indicating that the iteration pre-mission be delayed, but at a later stage to speed up the completion of speed, so basically no problem
The following figure iterative tasks according to the specified time to complete the delivery.
Early iterations normal tasks, but in later iterations, perhaps because of the increased workload or other causes, and so unable to complete the delivery on time. Find out why timely correction
The following figure is the actual line parallel to the state, because the team did not do the task or has not been updated burndown!
There are more forms of burndown, welcome message exchange ......
Burndown agile development is an essential element.
There are some tools can automatically generate burndown, such as: Leangoo agile development tools
