- 1 byte (byte) = 8 bit (bit)
In the 16-bit system (such as microcomputer 8086) a word (word) = 2 bytes (byte) = 16 (bit)
In the 32-bit system (such as win32) 1 word (word) = 4 bytes (byte) = 32 (bit)
In the 64-bit system (such as win64) 1 word (word) = 8 bytes (byte) = 64 (bit)
