Most of Ecuador's population personal records leaked

Since the database configuration errors, most of the Ecuadorian population (including children) personal records have been exposed on the Internet. Two weeks ago, vpnMentor security researcher Noam Rotem and Ran Locar discovery database leak. This should be one of the biggest data breaches on the history of Ecuador, and Ecuador is a small country in South America has 16.6 million citizens.

Leaked database contains a total of approximately 20.8 million user records, which is greater than the total population of the country, possibly due to duplicate records or old entries, including the data of the deceased. This data is distributed in different indexes. These indexes contain different information stored in the user detailed information, such as name, family members, civil registration data, financial information and work as well as car ownership data.

Some data seems to be collected from government sources, some of the data seems to be collected from private databases. These data include the full name, home address, marital status, cedulas (national ID number), work / job information, phone numbers and educated citizens.

However, things did not stop there. Security researchers found that the entire database also contains information on a large number of children. Specifically, it contains entries about 6.77 million children under the age of 18. These entries contain the name, place of birth, home address and gender information.
