Differences in well-being, genes determine behavior 50% 40% decision: quantitative research Happiness 6 + 3 books

Quantitative research in recent years have seen a happy book. "Sober thinking strategy" is new.

This nine books, there are six serious study of psychology or science review. "How do you measure your life" is the partial rational perspective, therefore, put this book list. "Why should enhance employee well-being" just a collection of four Harvard Business Review article, "Harvard Business Review" in 2019 on six magazines. Hence the title of the book said to be 6 + 3.

Information conveyed by these books, I think the important thing is the following a few:

1: individual differences in happiness, 50% determined by genetics, 40% decided by the behavior, 10% is determined by the environment;

2: fortune, promotion brings happiness will soon disappear;

3: Today is not happy, then tomorrow or the same may not be happy unless proactive action;

4: positive, optimistic attitude can make people happier;

5: happier for their own goals and significance of the struggle of the working people.

The following are the list of nine books. Click on the picture or subtitle can see my detailed review and notes.

Enhance the well-being to get more accomplished 52 thinking tools, emotional intelligence is more important than money. 4 stars: "sober thinking strategies."

German copyright is 2017, the still relatively new book.

Content is the author of a collection of some articles in the German newspapers, a total of 52 chapters, each devoted close, but the content between Chapter 52 repeats a slight cross-author mentions in the epilogue, the actual thinking tools available than this 52 kinds of setup Chapter 52 because the two are in Chapter 52 before the same series.

Postscript account of the book's 52 thinking tools from three aspects: psychological research in 40 years, the ancient Greek Stoic philosophy of Buffett Munger et al, investment philosophy.

52 parallel chapters make the book was sort of lacking a more simple and clear entry. The actual role of these 52 thinking tools are a few below:

1: errors and countermeasures when human thought likely to commit;

2: How to make you happy (most of the time to change their way of thinking can be done);

3: How to set a more reasonable life goals and direction.

The book of psychology research, the authors limited serialized in the newspaper layout can not give references, while still not given a book, this is a defect, but most of the research results seen in other materials, should be more available the letter.

Author talked about a lot of interesting stories to bring out these thinking tools, books to read is also more relaxed and happy.

Most of the author's point of view I agree.

4 stars overall assessment, yes.

What is a happy life: to find your strengths and play it: 4 Stars | "true happiness"

The author is the father of well-known scholars, positive psychology. This book is the author and academic circles about the well-being of research and scientific review.

Summed up in one sentence in the book's main idea of the book: "What is a happy life?" Find out what your strengths and play it.

Author's view is: a positive and optimistic attitude towards life, a good marriage, can flow into the state of mind of working people happier. Also given way to deal with pessimistic type character (to identify their own pessimism, and refute it), the method to enter the flow state of mind (when matched with the challenges your ability, heart flow is generated).

Author admits that he is pessimistic type character, the 5-year-old daughter awoke this shortcoming.

On the attitude of the more rigorous evidence and views, opinions generally include serious academic basis, no words to explain their own speculation.

One drawback is a little beat up, the English version was published in 2004. The book estimates there are some academic point of view has been updated. I think this book is because Zimbardo recommend this book in the "paradox of time" in. "Time Paradox" is the English version of the 2009, the Chinese version just came out this year.

The overall evaluation of 4 stars, very good.

Well there are two elements: 3.5 Stars | "is more important than the desperate efforts of those things."

Harvard University for 70 years, Grant staged a summary of the study. Research Grant 1942 - 1944 selected 268 Harvard students keep track of their situation.

Study authors join Grant in 1966, when 32-year-old. When writing a book of 78 years, which indicated that the English version of the book was written in 2012, when Grant study lasted for 70 years instead of 75 years subtitle says. 75 years apparently to rub a TED speech hotspot.

By analyzing the research of Grant and two other similar studies, some conclusions. I summarize a few important the following:

1: childhood got love in middle age when salary is closely related to human well-being in old age;

2: alcohol abuse can destroy people's career and marriage;

Grant me the book behind the study is quite shocking, study for 70 years was rare.

1:人脑对世界的理解和解释有各种各样的误差,这些误差有的能让人感觉能更好一点,有的则让人陷入没必要的焦虑;

2:人总是高估环境改善后得到的幸福,比如发财后,比如搬到气候适宜的加州,不会让人的幸福感增加很多;

1:大多数人以为退休了、财务自由了之后自己就幸福了,实际情况是退休了、财务自由了之后幸福感跟以前接近;

2:如果你今天不幸福,那么你明天也不会幸福,除非立即采取行动;

3:幸福的50%由基因决定,40%由行为决定,10%由环境决定;

4:拥有浪漫的伴侣及真诚的朋友会让人感到幸福;同时,幸福的人也更容易找到浪漫的爱人;

5:增加幸福感的具体12种做法;

1:物质激励不是真正的“动因”。人们做某件事真正的动因是:发自内心地想去做;

2:与工作不满对立的并非就是工作满意,只是没有不满;

3:哪些假设条件需要得到验证,才能说明这个战略有效;

4:我们之所以要购买产品和服务,是因为我们其实需要购买产品来完成某项特定的任务;

5:通向幸福婚姻的道路是找到你想让她幸福的那个人,她的幸福值得你付出;

6:领导者具有或者缺乏的技能很大程度上依赖于他们上过或者没上过的“课程”;

7:如果孩子没有面对艰难的挑战,或者没有面对失败,他们就没有培养起生活中所需要的韧性;

1:作者做了一个心理学实验,随机多次收集数千人在工作生活中的状态;

2:作者及其团队对各行业人的问卷调查;

1:挣钱更多的人表示感到了更大的时间压力;

2:即使是短暂的互动,也能对减轻压力和提升幸福感起到意想不到的重要作用;

3:我们都受到所谓“未来时间宽裕感”的困扰;

4:重视时间甚于金钱的人,幸福感和工作效率更高;

5:将周末当作度假的参与者幸福感明显更高;

6:慢下来留意周围,关注自己正在做的事和身边的人,可以让你从自己的活动中获得更多乐趣;
