SAP Kyma (Extension Factory on SAP Cloud Platform) architecture Introduction

<meta charset="utf-8">

SAP kyma is divided into three major components:

(1) Application connector

simplify and securely connect external systems to Kyma and to register the events and APIs of the external system

Kyma will allow application developers and external third-party systems via a simple and secure way to monitor system events and external consumption API

(2) Service Catalog

unifies the way you consume internal and external services. It also lists the events and APIs from the registered system.

It allows application developers in a uniform manner within the consumer external services. Through the Service Catalog, we can obtain the API and available for listening event external systems Kyma registered.

(3) serveless knative function blocks provided by the module.

serverless functionality leveraged through the Knative integration, which allows you to build lambda functions to react to events asynchronously coming from connected systems.

Lamdba function can be used to develop thrown from an external system Application Connector connected events.

High availability basis knative modules, rapid deployment and applications, highly scalable as possible.

It also enables you to do quick deployments, with higher scalability and loose coupling through events.

While Knative concentrates more on providing the building blocks for running serverless workloads, Kyma focuses on integrating those blocks with external services and applications.
