Computer Network 09 Wireless LAN Configuration Experiment

1. Experimental purpose

(1) Master the key points of wireless AP configuration

(2) Master the configuration points of wireless broadband routers

(3) Master the concept of SSID. SSID is the abbreviation of Service Set Identifier, which means: Service Set Identifier. SSID technology can divide a wireless LAN into several sub-networks that require different authentication. Each sub-network requires independent authentication. Only users who have passed the authentication can enter the corresponding sub-network to prevent unauthorized users. Enter this network.

2. Experimental principles

SSID/ESSID (Service Set Identifier) is the abbreviation of "Service Area Identifier Match" and "Service Group Identifier". It can have up to 32 characters. In layman's terms, it is like the "work group" identification in a wired LAN. The same, or like the same password between the wireless client and the wireless router. Only under the same premise can the wireless network card access the wireless router. This is also one of the important measures to ensure the security of the wireless network.

A wireless workstation equipped with a wireless network card must fill in the correct SSID and be the same as the SSID of the wireless access point (AP or wireless router) before it can access the AP; if the SSID presented is different from the SSID of the AP or wireless router, the AP will deny him access. Wood service area/work group access to the Internet. Therefore, the SSID can be considered as a simple password, thereby providing a password authentication mechanism and achieving a certain level of security. In addition to changing the SSID of the wireless network card in the wireless network card configuration program, you can also change it directly in the operating system.

1. Add wireless network cards to PC1 and PC2

(1) Taking PC1 as an example, you must first turn off the computer segment, as shown below, click the red button, and the indicator light will turn off.

(2) Remove the wired network card from the computer and drag it in the direction of the arrow

(3) Add a wireless network card and then turn on the computer power, as shown below

2. Configure router router0

3. Configure the same SSID="ipdata" on access point0, Tablet pc0, and Tablet pc1 to ensure that Tablet pc0 and Tablet pc1 can establish correct wireless connections with access point0.

(1) Click on the wireless device access point0, select config, select the lower card, select the "port 1" item, and fill in "ipdata" in "SSID", as shown below

(2) Click on the wireless device Tablet pc0, select the config tab, select the wireless0 item, fill in "ipdata" in "SSID", and set the IP address to the static address 210.10.10.11, as shown below

(3) Click on the wireless device Tablet pc1, select the config tab, select the wireless0 item, fill in "ipdata" in "SSID", and set the IP address to the static address 210.10.10.12, as shown below

(4) Tablet pc0 tests access point0 and Tablet pc1, and finds that the results can all be pinged.

4. Configure the same SSID = "CCNA" on the wireless broadband router wireless router0, PC1, and PC2 to ensure that PC1 and PC2 can establish correct wireless connections with the wireless broadband router wireless router0.

(1) Click on the wireless broadband router wireless router0, select config, select the lower card, select the "wireless" item, and fill in "CCNA" in "SSID", as shown below

(2) Click on the wireless broadband router wireless router0, select config, select the lower card, select the "Internet" item, and configure its IP address and gateway, as shown below

(3) Click pc1, select the config tab, select the wireless0 item, and fill in "CCNA" in "SSID", as shown below

(4) Click pc2, select the config tab, select the wireless0 item, and fill in "CCNA" in "SSID", as shown below

  1. The pc2 test accesses Tablet pc1, PC1, and PC0, and it is found that the results can all be pinged. The general experiment is successful.

4. Results and analysis

In this experiment, I used Cisco Packet Tracer 6.0 software to successfully set up a simple wireless LAN and achieve the effect that various hosts can communicate with each other. During the experiment, I gained a deeper understanding of wireless LAN and mastered how to build a simple wireless LAN. Understand the advantages of wireless LAN: easy to use and install, no wiring required, can be connected anytime and anywhere; supports mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, etc.; improves work efficiency, saves time and costs; easy to manage and maintain, can Realize remote management and centralized control. Through this experiment, you can establish a simple wireless LAN and learn how to do it and how to deal with problems in the process.
