1. Environmental preparation

Install a VMware virtual machine.

Download the CentOS7 image file, which can be downloaded from the following site.

2. Specific installation steps
The installation I am using here is version 16 of the WMware virtual machine.

Open the virtual machine and click Add new virtual machine.

You can choose a typical configuration, here you choose custom, click Next.

Click Next by default.

Select to install the operating system later and click Next.

Select the operating system type as Linux, version as CentOS 7, and click Next.

Set the virtual machine name according to your preference, select your installation location, and click Next.

Set the number of processors to 2 and click Next.

The virtual machine memory needs to be more than 1GB. If the physical machine memory is not very large, you can set it to 1.5GB. Here it is set to 2GB.

Select NAT mode as the network type and click Next.

Default to next step.

The disk type is the default, click Next.

Select Create a new virtual disk and click Next.

Set the disk size to 20GB, choose to split the disk into multiple files, and click Next.

Click Next by default.

Click Done.

Click Edit Virtual Machine Settings, select CD/DVD, select use ISO image file, click Browse to select the downloaded centOS 7 image file, and click OK. Then start the virtual machine.

This interface appears, select Install CentOS 7.

Enter the setting interface, select Chinese-Simplified Chinese, and click Continue.

Select software installation. If you have a certain foundation, you can choose the minimal installation installation command interface. For the graphical interface installed here, select the GNOME desktop and click Finish.

Select the installation location as the disk partition. In order to save time, select automatic allocation of partitions and click Finish.

Select the network and hostname to set up the network.

Click Ethernet and turn it on, set the host name yourself and click Apply, and finally click Finish.

To start the system installation, click Start Installation.

Set the administrator password, click ROOT password,

Set and confirm the password and click Finish.

Set a common user password and click Create User.

Set the username and password and confirm, click Finish.

Wait for the system to be installed and click Restart.

Click LICENSE INF ORMATION to accept the license.

Select I agree to the license agreement and click Finish.

Click Complete Configuration. The system will be configured and restarted. Don’t panic! ! !

After the restart is complete, enter the password you set to enter the system interface. The CentOS 7 system installation is now complete.

Shut down the system and take a snapshot of the virtual machine to make a backup so that it can be restored to its original state later.
