1 Overview

The LT8711H is a high-performance Type-C/DP1.2 to HDMI1.4 converter designed to connect USB Type-C sources or DP1.2 sources to HDMI1.4 receivers.

The LT8711H integrates a DP1.2-compliant receiver and an HDMI1.4-compliant transmitter. In addition, two CC controllers are included for CC communication to implement DP Alt Mode and power transfer functions, one for the upstream Type-C port and the other for the downstream port.

The device has automatic operation features enabled by an integrated microprocessor using a microprocessor.

Embedded SPI flash memory is used for firmware storage. System control is also possible through the use of a dedicated configuration I2C slave interface.

LT8711HE also supports EDID buffer, DP/eDP input detection and determination to automatically enter power saving mode. When the LT8711HE's receiver locks onto the input signal, the MCU can read the recovered timing parameters through the MSA register to match the ASSR. When debugging a complete link training, the DPCD register can be accessed via system I2C. Once fast link training is used, system time will be saved by at least 400ms.
