Download ubuntu image
Open the ubuntu official website, enter the download interface, and download the LTS version at the address: https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop
. The file is relatively large and the download may be slow. You need to wait for a while.
Install Ubuntu
1. Open VMware and choose to create a new virtual machine.
2. Select Typical (recommended) and go to the next step.
3. Place the Ubuntu image you just downloaded here, then choose to install the operating system later, next step.
4. Select Linux, Ubuntu 64-bit here (select according to your own computer)
5. Select the storage location here, try not to put it on the C drive
6. Set the disk size and choose according to your needs. 
7. Select custom hardware and set it up.
8. Choose to use the ISO image file in the new CD/DVD and put the Ubuntu image file you just downloaded. You can modify other hardware settings according to your needs.
After the settings are completed, click Finish to start the installation.
Install virtual machine system
1. Click to start this virtual machine.
2. Click Install Ubuntu in English
to continue.
3. Select Normal installation. You can choose whether to update the version according to your needs.
4. Select Remove Disk and Install Ubuntu, then click Install Now.
Click Continue
5. Select the region. Here I chose China.
6. Set username and password.
Installing
7. After the installation is completed, select Restart: Restart Now.
After restarting, the installation is complete~
