Cloud native technology event KubeCon is about to be held! Amazon Cloud Technology attended the conference as a diamond sponsor

KubeCon2023 will be held grandly at the Shanghai Transnational Procurement Convention and Exhibition Center from September 26th to 28th. As one of the most prestigious technology conferences in the cloud native field, KubeCon+CloudNativeCon is the best platform to connect global developers and the cloud native community. This time, there is also a new Open Source Summit session, attracting the world's top cloud native experts. Among them, the most cutting-edge technological innovations are displayed, providing all participants with an excellent opportunity to communicate, learn and explore "black technology". This event is not only large in scale, but also full of infinite technical charm, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the infinite possibilities of the cloud native world.

Cloud native accelerates generative AI application innovation

Under the wave of generative AI, the fast-forward button has been pressed on the digital transformation of enterprises. From enterprises to individuals, everyone is looking for ways to apply generative AI technology. Generative AI brings continuous optimization of APIs and significant reductions in innovation costs, leading to an explosion of new applications. The application capabilities of generative AI will amplify the differentiation and competitive advantages of enterprises. Generative AI can reshape user experience, improve production efficiency, and unleash innovation potential. While facing new opportunities, we are also facing challenges brought by quickly building generative AI applications, including data analysis and processing/model training and reasoning/new application construction iterations/dramatic changes in load, etc. From serverless, containers, to development tools, Amazon Cloud Technology provides end-to-end cloud native technology services to help enterprises cope with the challenges of the new era and accelerate the implementation of generative AI applications.

Run the data exchange service on Kubernetes,

To solve a well-known challenge of Apache Spark

Guest: Melody Yang, senior big data architect at Amazon Cloud Technology

 Time: September 27, 2023 11:50-12:25

Address: Room 2, Conference Room 212F, 2nd Floor

In an era where data drives everything, Apache Spark has become a popular open source computing framework for machine learning and data ETL use cases because of its ability to handle large-scale data processing efficiently. However, a well-known challenge that Spark faces on Kubernetes is the partially supported Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA). This speech aims to explore a novel solution to solve the DRA challenge of Spark on k8s by utilizing the open source data exchange service (RSS). By moving shuffled data to remote storage outside of the Spark application's executor pods, storage and computation can finally be decoupled to support the ultimate goal of dynamic scaling requirements. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of Spark's dynamic resource allocation on k8s, how open source solutions alleviate the resource contention issues faced by Spark on k8s, and how to provide more reliable and scalable solutions in the field of big data.
