Among them, Ningxia Normal University plans to change its name and upgrade to Ningxia Normal University, which will significantly improve the overall strength of Ningxia normal universities and improve the quality of teacher training.
In April 2023, Ningxia Normal University held a promotion meeting for upgrading to a university and renaming it at the Guyuan City Conference Center to rearrange, redeploy, and further advance the work of "upgrading to a university." Wang Hongwei, deputy secretary of the school's party committee and president, pointed out that the upgrade to a university is a key step to achieve the school's phased goal of "promoting to a university and creating a doctorate".
