1 Introduction

2. Plex website construction
As one of the three musketeers of audio and video servers that are highly respected abroad, Plex is also quite well-known in China. However, for a "temporary enthusiast" like the author, it needs to be able to meet the requirements of building a private audio and video media station, and does not care whether the software is well-known or not. As long as the interface looks good and is actually easy to use, that's fine. Of course, another key point is that the installation settings should not be too complicated, which allows the author to easily install and deploy it on a desktop computer at home.
2.1 Plex download and installation
Deploying a Plex audio and video site is very simple. Just go to the Plex official website, download a Plex Media Serversoftware, and install it on the device you plan to install. Plex Media Server supports multiple operating systems. The author is using a retired computer at home, so I chose the Windows version of the software.
The file downloaded by Plex Media Server is an .exe file (Windows system), so just double-click to run it. The next installation steps are not much different from other software. You can continue the installation by selecting the software interface language. However, the Plex Media Server installation language does not have Chinese, so you can only choose English for installation.
After the installation software is completed, Plex Media Server will enter the Web page setup stage. Here we do not choose any method to log in (then set up the login account), but click the button at the bottom of the login page to enter the local Plex Media Server setup page 这是什么. .
After clicking to enter the Plex account description page, click at the bottom 跳过并接受有限功能to enter the local Plex server settings page and use the local computer as a Plex server.
On the local Plex server settings page, we first select the local computer as the server; then select the folder where local media data is stored for Plex. Usually Plex selects the media folder that comes with Windows as the default media library; finally click 完成to complete the settings of the Plex Media Server server.
It should be noted that in order to facilitate us to log in to local Plex on the public Internet later, it is best to register a Plex account in local Plex. The author used his email to register his account, so he clicked the "Continue using email" button.
2.2 Plex web page testing
After completing the Plex Media Server server setup, we only need to use the browser address bar to access the local 32400 port (local IP address: 32400) to access the main interface of the Plex Media Server, which means that our Plex Media Server server setup complete.
2.3 Installation and registration of cpolar
After completing the Plex Media Server page settings, we then install the cpolar intranet penetration software. Like Plex, cpolar is easy to install and register. We find the button directly on cpolar’s official website 下载.

The author is using the Windows operating system, so I chose the Windows version to download.
After the Cpolar download is completed, unzip the downloaded file and double-click the unzipped .msifile to automatically execute the installation program. Then it only takes one step Nextto complete the installation.
cpolar will create an independent data tunnel for each user, supplemented by user password and token code to ensure data security. Therefore, user registration is required before using cpolar. The registration process is very simple. Just click on the upper right corner of the cpolar homepage 用户注册and fill in the necessary information on the registration page to complete the registration.
3. Local web page publishing
After completing the deployment of the Plex Media Server server and installing the cpolar intranet penetration software, we can use cpolar to create a public Internet address that can connect to the local test page, allowing us to access the local Plex server on the public Internet.
3.1 Cpolar cloud settings
Since the data tunnel of the free version of cpolar is reset every 24 hours, I don’t want to have to reconnect every day, so I upgraded cpolar to the VIP version so that I can create an intranet penetration data tunnel that can exist stably for a long time.
Next, we start setting up the intranet penetration data tunnel. To establish a long-term and stable network penetration data tunnel, you need to log in to cpolar's official website first, find the "Reserve" button on the left side of the user's home page, and click to enter cpolar's data tunnel reservation page (the free version of cpolar creates a data tunnel, Or create a temporary data tunnel, you do not need to set it up on the cpolar cloud, you can set it directly on the cpolar client), generate a public Internet address here (can also be regarded as the entrance to the data tunnel), because this address is not connected to the local one at this time Software output port, so it can also be regarded as a blank data tunnel.
On the reservation page, you can see many types of data tunnels that can be reserved. Here we select 保留二级子域名the field.
In the "Reserved second-level subdomain name" field, you need to make several simple settings:

After completing these settings, you can click the "Reserve" button on the right to retain this data tunnel.
Of course, if you no longer plan to use this data tunnel, you can click the "x" on the right to easily delete it and save valuable tunnel quota.
3.2 Cpolar local settings
After completing the settings of the cpolar cloud and retaining the blank data tunnel, we returned to the local cpolar client and connected the blank data tunnel generated by the cloud to the local test page so that we can access the local test on the public Internet. page.
Open and log in to the cpolar client locally (you can enter localhost:9200 in the browser to access it directly, or you can click the cpolar client shortcut in the start menu).
隧道管理Click the button on the left side of the client's main interface 创建隧道to enter the local tunnel creation page (if you want to create a temporary data tunnel that does not reset the address for 24 hours, you can set it up directly here instead of setting up a blank data tunnel on the cpolar official website).
On this page, you also need to make several information settings, which include:
- Tunnel name – can be regarded as cpolar’s local tunnel information annotation, as long as it is convenient for us to distinguish;
- Protocol – The Plex server is a web page display, so choose the http protocol;
- Local address – The local address is the output port number of the local Plex website, so fill in 32400 here;
- Domain name type – In this example, we have reserved the data tunnel of the second-level subdomain name in the cpolar cloud, so check “Second-level subdomain name” (if the reserved domain name is a custom domain name, check the custom domain name) , and fill in the reserved second-level subdomain name in the "Sub Domain" column on the next line. Here we fill in the "plexweb" reserved by cpolar cloud. If you plan to create a temporary data tunnel, directly check "Random domain name" and let the cpolar client generate the network address by itself;
- Region – The same as the information reserved in cpolar cloud, we can fill it in according to the actual place of use;
After completing these settings, you can click the "Create" button at the bottom of the page to connect the blank data tunnel in the cpolar cloud with the local payment test page, which also provides us with a data tunnel that can access the local Plex server page on the public Internet. .
After the data tunnel is successfully created, the cpolar client will automatically jump to the page 隧道管理under the item 隧道列表. Here, we can manage this data tunnel, including opening, closing, or deleting this tunnel. We can also click the "Edit" button to modify the information of this data tunnel.
4. Public network access test
Finally, we click the "Online Tunnel List" button under the "Status" item on the left side of the cpolar client interface to find the public Internet address of the Plex server. Paste this address into the browser to see the local Plex Media Server The login page achieves the purpose of publishing the local page to the public Internet.
After entering the correct login name and password, you will see the main page of Plex Media Server.
