Today, the author will introduce to you how to use the cpolar+Plex combination to build an all-round private media audio-visual site on the Windows system.
2. Plex website building
As one of the three swordsmen of audio-visual servers respected abroad, Plex is also quite well-known in China, but for "temporary enthusiasts" like the author, it needs to be able to meet the requirements of building a private audio-visual media station, and does not care whether the software is well-known. As long as the interface looks good and is actually easy to use, it's fine. Of course, there is another key point, that is, the installation settings should not be too complicated~ it allows the author to easily install and deploy on the desktop computer at home.
2.1 Plex download and installation
The deployment of the Plex audio-visual site is very simple, just go to the official website of Plex, download a Plex Media Serversoftware, and install it on the device to be installed. Plex Media Server supports a variety of operating systems. The author uses a computer that was eliminated at home, so I chose the Windows version of the software.
The file downloaded by Plex Media Server is an .exe file (Windows system), so just double-click to run it. The next installation steps are not much different from other software, you can continue the installation after selecting the software interface language. However, the installation language of Plex Media Server is not Chinese, so you can only choose English for installation.
After the installation software is completed, Plex Media Server will enter the web page setting stage. Here we do not choose any way to log in (the login account setting will be done later), but click the button at the bottom of the login page to enter the local Plex Media Server setting 这是什么page .
After clicking to enter the Plex account description page, click at the bottom 跳过并接受有限功能to enter the local Plex server setting page, and use the local computer as a Plex server.
On the local Plex server setting page, we first select the local computer as the server; then select the folder where the local media data is stored for Plex. Usually Plex chooses the media folder that comes with Windows as the default media library; finally click 完成to complete the Plex Media Server server settings.
It should be noted that in order to facilitate us to log in to the local Plex on the public Internet in the future, it is best to register a Plex account in the local Plex. The author uses an email address to register an account, so click the "Continue with Email" button.
2.2 Plex web page test
After completing the Plex Media Server server settings, we only need to use the browser address bar to access the local port 32400 (local IP address: 32400), and we can access the main interface of Plex Media Server, which means that our Plex Media Server server is built complete.
2.3 Installation and registration of cpolar
After completing the Plex Media Server page settings, we then install the cpolar intranet penetration software. Like Plex, cpolar is easy to install and register. We find the button directly on the official website of cpolar 下载.

The author uses the Windows operating system, so choose the Windows version to download.
After the download of Cpolar is complete, decompress the downloaded file, double-click the decompressed .msifile, and the installation program can be executed automatically. Then just go all the way Nextto complete the installation.
cpolar will create an independent data tunnel for each user, supplemented by user password and token code to ensure data security. Therefore, user registration is required before using cpolar. The registration process is very simple, just click on the upper right corner of the cpolar homepage 用户注册, fill in the necessary information on the registration page, and the registration can be completed.
3. Local web publishing
After completing the deployment of the Plex Media Server server and installing the cpolar intranet penetration software, we can use cpolar to create a public Internet address that can connect to the local test page, allowing us to access the local Plex server on the public Internet.
3.1 Cpolar cloud settings
Since the data tunnel of the free version of cpolar is reset every 24 hours, I don’t want to reconnect every day, so I upgraded cpolar to the VIP version to create a long-term stable intranet penetration data tunnel.
Next, we start to set up the intranet penetration data tunnel. To establish a long-term and stable network penetration data tunnel, you need to log in to the official website of cpolar first, and find the "reserve" button on the left side of the user's main page, and click to enter the data tunnel reservation page of cpolar (the free version of cpolar creates a data tunnel, Or to create a temporary data tunnel, you don’t need to set it on the cpolar cloud, you can set it directly on the cpolar client), generate a public Internet address here (it can also be regarded as the entrance of the data tunnel), because this address is not connected to the local Software output port, so it can also be regarded as a blank data tunnel.
On the reservation page, you can see many kinds of data tunnels that can be reserved. Here we select 保留二级子域名the field.
In the field of "Reserve the second-level subdomain name", several simple information settings need to be made:
地区(The area where the server is located, just choose the nearest one)二级域名(will eventually appear in the generated public Internet address as one of the identifiers of the network address)描述(It can be regarded as the description of this data tunnel, which can be distinguished from other tunnels). After completing these settings, you can click the "Reserve" button on the right to reserve this data tunnel.
Of course, if this data tunnel is no longer intended to be used, you can click the "x" on the right to delete it easily, saving valuable tunnel quota.
3.2 Cpolar Local Settings
After completing the setting of the cpolar cloud and keeping the blank data tunnel, we return to the local cpolar client and connect the blank data tunnel generated by the cloud with the local test page, so that we can access the local test on the public Internet page.
Open and log in the cpolar client locally (you can enter localhost:9200 in the browser to access directly, or click the shortcut of the cpolar client in the start menu).
隧道管理Click the button on the left side of the main interface of the client 创建隧道to enter the local tunnel creation page (if you want to create a temporary data tunnel without a 24-hour reset address, you can directly set it here instead of setting a blank data tunnel on the cpolar official website).
On this page, several information settings also need to be made, including:

2.协议– The Plex server is a web page display, so choose the http protocol;
3.本地地址– The local address is the output port number of the local Plex website, so Fill in 32400 here;
4.域名类型– In this example, we have reserved the data tunnel of the second-level subdomain name in the cpolar cloud, so check the "Second-level subdomain name" (if the reserved domain name is a custom domain name, check the Choose a custom domain name), andSub Domainfill in the reserved second-level subdomain name in the next column, here we fill in the "plexweb" reserved by cpolar cloud. If you plan to create a temporary data tunnel, just check "Random Domain Name" directly, and the cpolar client will generate the network address by itself;
5.地区– It is the same as the information reserved in the cpolar cloud, and we can fill it in according to the actual use;
After completing these settings, you can click the "Create" button at the bottom of the page to connect the blank data tunnel on the cpolar cloud with the local payment test page, which provides us with a data tunnel that can access the local Plex server page on the public Internet .
After the data tunnel is successfully created, the cpolar client will automatically jump to the page 隧道管理under the item 隧道列表. Here, we can manage this data tunnel, including opening, closing or deleting this tunnel, or click the "Edit" button to modify the information of this data tunnel.
4. Public network access test
Finally, we click the "Online Tunnel List" button under the "Status" item on the left side of the cpolar client interface to find the public Internet address of the Plex server. Paste this address into the browser to see the local Plex Media Server The landing page achieves the purpose of publishing the local page to the public Internet.
After entering the correct login and password, you can see the main page of Plex Media Server.
5 Conclusion
At this point, we have completed the setting of reducing the cost of the computer into a Plex Media server, and made this Plex server accessible on the public Internet, so that we can see the videos and photos on the local computer anytime, anywhere, and transfer the local computer Create an all-round private media station.
