Varjo Technology: Varjo, a pioneer in industrial-grade virtual reality and mixed reality solutions

Pioneer of industrial-grade virtual reality and mixed reality solutions, announces it is working with Infrastructure Systems to deliver some of the world's most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace and security solutions to develop a pioneering single synthetic environment for future training , Odyssey Engineering .

Project Odyssey sees BAE Systems bringing together experts in simulation, supercomputing, data analytics, augmented and virtual reality to create a single synthetic environment that enables air, land, sea, space and cyber forces to work together and train. It will enable militaries in all fields to train regularly and safely in the virtual world and gain vital battlefield experience without the challenges and limitations of collective training and its limited war scenarios.

Lucy Walton, head of training at BEA Systems Aviation, said: "One of the strengths of Project Odyssey is that we have brought together a range of leading technology suppliers to make Valho's state-of-the-art immersion technology further enhance its capabilities. Partnering with a leader in this field and combining that with BEA Systems' pedigree and deep understanding of delivering military training around the world allows us to rapidly evolve the training of the future."

"Together with BEA Systems on Project Odyssey, we are ushering in a new era of training and simulation capabilities. Valho's most advanced mixed reality technology, including our industry-leading human eye resolution and eye tracking capabilities, combined with advanced compositing A training environment that will enable military personnel to train for multi-domain operations with unparalleled realism and unprecedented efficiency. Sepp, Valho’s chief commercial officer.

The innovative training and simulation capabilities brought about by DSEI's Odyssey program will be showcased at Valho and BEA Systems at the global defense and security exhibition Eelel at London's Victoria Royal Docks from September 12-15. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience how Valho’s game-changing technology will be integrated into the Odyssey project.

BAE Systems and Valho's demonstration at DSEI will include the following experiences, among others:

  • Fast Eurofighter Typhoon VR Pilot Training: Immerse yourself in the cockpit of a Eurofighter Typhoon jet. Valho XR-3 Focus Edition is a mixed reality pilot training headset that pushes the boundaries of realism.

  • D3A Defense Force’s JTAC Training in Mixed Reality: Explore Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training in mixed reality, where the real and virtual worlds merge.

Stay tuned for the future of dynamic presentation training at DSEI.
