[Data sharing] 1km resolution global night light time series data from 2012 to 2022 (no need to forward \ free access)

Nighttime light data is something we use a lot in our various studies! In the previous article, we shared the global year-by-year NPP/VIIRS nighttime light data from NCEI National Center for Environmental Information from 2012 to 2022 (please check the previously pushed article for details)!

What we share with you this time is the global nighttime light timing data from 2012 to 2022 provided by the Urban Environment Monitoring and Modeling (UEMM) team from the School of Land Science and Technology of China Agricultural University . The data is calibrated by coordinating the mutual calibration of DMSP data. Nighttime light (NTL) observations and DMSP-like NTL observations from VIIRS data simulations generate a comprehensive, consistent NTL data set at the global scale. The data format is raster format (.tif), and the latest data year is 2022. The data will continue to be updated, so you can continue to pay attention!

The following is a detailed introduction to the data:

01 Data Preview

Let's take the nationwide night light data in 2022 as an example to preview:

Next, let's take Shandong Province in 2020 as an example to see the following details:

02 Data details

Data introduction:

This data set temporally extends the DMSP nighttime light data set, harmonizes the mutually calibrated nighttime light observation data in DMSP data and VIIRS data, and generates DMSP NTL time series data showing consistent time trends.
