GSV6201 alternative | CS5466 design information | CS5466 schematic diagram | typec to HDMI_8k solution chip

The GSV6201 is a high-performance, low-power, high-performance, USB Type-C Alternate Mode DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Converter. By integrating an enhanced microcontroller, the GSV6201 creates a cost-effective solution offering time-to-market advantages. The DisplayPort receiver supports up to 32.4Gbps (HBR3, 4 lanes) and the HDMI transmitter supports up to 48Gbps (FRL, 12G4Lane). The integrated Power Delivery 3.0 controller handles Type-C CC interface mode input for USB power management and DisplayPort. The superior architecture of the GSV6201 provides an economical, smaller footprint solution using QFN64, Type-C docking, Type-C dongle target applications, and DP to HDMI cables.

Type C/DP1.4 to HDMI2.1, GSV6201 supports USB3.0, CC/PD3.0

Features

1. DP1.4 RX HBR3 (8.1 Gbps), HBR3, HBR2 and HBR support

2. Support DSC pass-through from DP to HDMI2.1

3. Support dual PD/CC controllers

4. Support Billboard (USB full speed)

5. Audio extraction

6. Horizontal Blanking Extension (HBE)

7. Color space converter

8. Support Forward Error Correction (FEC)

9. Support adaptive synchronization/FreeSync/Gsync

The newly launched CS5466 by Jiruizhiyuan/ASL is also a highly integrated chip that can convert Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB 4 Type-C/DP to HDMI 2.1 8K+PD3.0. Support output HDMI 8K60 (DSC Bypass), USB 3.0/3.1, PD3.0, and support bidirectional PD3.0 protocol.

In addition, the package of GSV6201 is QFN64, while the package of CS5466 is QFN68. In comparison, the package of CS5466 will be larger, the heat dissipation effect will be better, and the service life will be longer. The price of CS5466 will be more advantageous than GSV6201
