01 In the current market, should network workers join the IE camp?
Recalling the above, the network worker industry has indeed gradually evolved into the use of certificates to measure a person's strength.
The changes in the market are like this, and it does sound a bit helpless.
In the past ten years, the rise of major manufacturers' certifications, a large number of migrant workers pouring into this industry, and a large number of examination institutions that issue training plans...
The market has cultivated batch after batch of IE, and the two sides of this matter have become very clear.
The advantage is, of course, that the technical threshold continues to rise, and those who enter the industry have to lay the foundation first, and the network worker industry has gradually gained industry leadership.
The disadvantages are also obvious. The barriers to entry are low, the introversion is serious, the supply exceeds demand, and the skills learned are also uneven.
It sounds like the situation is very embarrassing, it seems that the test is not good, and it is not good if you don't take the test.
But in fact, if you don’t take the exam, you won’t be able to reach the threshold for good job recruitment. If you have a certificate, you can at least touch the threshold. The rest is actually learning by yourself.
In the industry, it is natural to adapt to the development.
Then my personal suggestion is:
For new internet workers , before entering the industry, you can first grasp your academic qualifications and English, which will allow you to go further.
And the test still has to be taken. If you have the conditions, you can go directly to IE. If you want to start with IA and IP and slowly lay the foundation, it is also an option.
However, don't paddle, research for research.
As for the old internet workers , if they still want to improve, they should work hard. Don’t wait for a few years to see the end.
Think about the new direction of network workers, security, cloud computing and so on, so that you can broaden your path.
02 It is still possible to enter the market, but the networker market began to reject papers that memorize the question bank
Since it is learning, I naturally hope that everyone will not paddle if they can not paddle.
You see, when I recruit newcomers, I have an IE certificate as a foundation. The root cause of everyone's technical level is too different is obvious. The difference between paper and real talent.
IEs with theoretical knowledge and skills basically answered fluently during the interview, but there were two younger brothers, and I was stunned when I talked a little bit about technology.
Because the project is more important and I don't have time to train new people, so I don't recruit paper directly.
Then why don't other companies have countermeasures?
There are two methods directly. First, you will be blocked by your certificate. If you have a certificate but not enough technology, then you will be blocked for your salary.

So many Internet workers are crying, why I won the HCIE, but there is no promotion and salary increase.

You really have to study hard, stop paddling, stop memorizing the question bank, you will regret it sooner or later.
Even if you have joined the job, you will be dazed when you arrive at the practice site, and you can't wait to go home at night to catch up on knowledge.

03 Datacom IE does have a large base, but the industry is making efforts to cultivate new directions
I personally have a habit. I like to watch various industry trends. I like to watch the dynamics of major manufacturers. I like to think about new technologies in the ICT industry.
After reading Huawei’s annual report, I wrote a special interpretation for you. Do you remember: “In Huawei’s eyes, what is the ICT industry going to do this year? " .
I dare not say that I am very forward-looking, but I can more or less see the future direction of some Internet workers.
Everyone knows that datacom is the foundation of the network world, so whoever enters this industry must learn from routing and switching.
This learning base is large, and it will become larger and larger in the future.
But this is only the first step. Internet workers have been developing new tracks over the years. If you look at Huawei's official IE certification section, it explains everything.
Let me talk to you about a few directions that I personally think are good. Even if you want to roll, you should roll with the one with the most potential. This is the reason.
For example, cloud computing.
Huawei, Tencent, and other major companies are all mentioning that cloud computing has entered the era of full cloud native.
It is indeed a trend for enterprises to go to the cloud in the future, and China's cloud computing market is indeed in a period of expansion, and the potential is still great.
Traditional network workers do have pre-sales, after-sales, implementation, operation and maintenance in various directions, and many core data cannot be uploaded to the cloud.
But the demand in this direction is coming in a steady stream. Who doesn't want to be the first batch of people to get the bonus?
Another example is security.
In fact, it can be perfectly matched with cloud technology. More and more enterprises will continue to carry out network security management and control, cloud-network integration, etc. after the deployment of network products.
But more are the manufacturer's firewall, IPS, signature verification system, certificate system, monitoring and alarm system, etc., and have a broad and deep understanding of access control.
Or, if you don't favor these areas of expansion, after you have accumulated the foundation of data communication, there are still many directions.
Transformational network architects, high-end automated operation and maintenance, etc., are all directions.
Generally speaking, the trend of network engineers is to pay more and more attention to comprehensive technical capabilities . It does not mean that you can debug switches and routers.
It is true that a group of people are blindly scrolling through IE, which has more or less disrupted the network engineering market, but if your perception is that IE is useless, you still have to let go of the pattern.
The potential of network workers is far more than that. To become a compound talent, IE can only be regarded as a foreground.
