In the past two days, a fan left a message asking me: The computer always prompts to update automatically, and I can’t turn it off, what should I do?
Today I will teach you how to completely turn off the system automatic update function of the computer, and it will never be automatically updated in the future.
1. Close the update service
1. Press the keyboard win+R key at the same time, open the run box, enter services.msc , and click OK
2. Come to the service management window, slide all the way down, and find the Windows Update service
3. Double-click the Windows Update service, as shown in the figure below, first click to stop , and then change the manual to disabled in the startup type (don’t worry, it’s not over yet)
4. Click Restore on the window , and then, as shown in the figure below, change the restart service to no operation , and click OK (if it is not changed to no operation, the next time the system fails to update, it will restart the disabled service, then disabling it is useless)
2. Change Group Policy
1. Press the keyboard win+R key at the same time, open the run box, enter gpedit.msc , and then click OK
2. Go to the Local Group Policy Editor interface, find Computer Configuration , double-click to expand Administrative Templates , double-click to expand Windows Components
3. In Windows Components , slide down, find Windows Update and select it, and find Configure Automatic Updates on the right
4. Double-click to open Configure Automatic Updates , change Unconfigured to Disabled , then click OK , and finally close the Local Group Policy Editor window
So far, all the configurations have been completed, and it will never be automatically updated in the future. The world has become quiet.
