USB HSETT packaging tool installation

After installing EHCI  HSETT, "No Host Controller Found" is displayed, and the tool cannot be used without a suitable Host Controller.

Check the document and learn that EHCI is used as the host of USB 2.0, while PCs are mostly used as the host of USB 3.0 at present. To install the packaging tool suitable for USB 3.0, you need to install xHCI.

The document HSETT_Instruction_0_4_1.pdf introduces the problems that may be encountered during the installation process, see section 8.3.

  • Changing User Account Control (UAC) before installation needs to be adjusted to never notify
"Start", "Control Panel", "User Accounts and Family Safety", "User Accounts", "Change User Account Control Settings", adjust to never notify , click OK.
  • The compatible driver is not installed correctly.
Generally, Windows will install the corresponding driver. If it is not installed, please download the corresponding driver from the official website of the purchased PC, or use tools such as driver assistants to install it.
  • 32-bit/64-bit HSETT installation is incorrect.
"Start", "Computer", right-click "Properties", "System", "System Properties" to view the system type, and then select the corresponding HSETT installation.
  • EHCI/xHCI is not installed correctly
Check the USB type of the computer, if it supports 3.0, install xHCI, if not, install EHCI.

xHCI: eXtensible Host Controller Interface, is an extensible host controller interface, a USB host controller developed by Intel.

EHCI: Enhanced Host Controller Interface, which is an enhanced host controller interface specification, describes a register-level interface of a universal serial bus USB2.0 host controller.
