It is very simple to connect the S7-200CPU with a computer, first supply power to the CPU, and then connect the PLC and the computer with a PPI communication cable.
1. Supply power to S7-200CPU
The figure below shows two ways to supply power to S7-200, DC power supply and AC power supply.
2. Connect the RS-232/PPI cable
Note: USB to RS232/PPI cable can be used
3. Open the programming software STEP7-Micro/WIN
Open the programming software and create a new project, as shown below:
4. Use STEP7-Micro/WIN to set communication parameters
The PC/PPI cable communication address is set to 0, the interface uses COM1, and the baud rate uses 9600bps, as shown in the figure below:
5. Establish connection and communication between STEP7-Micro/WIN and Siemens S7-200
Use the communication dialog box shown in the figure below to establish communication with S7-200. Click Refresh to automatically search for the CPU of S7-200. If the device cannot be found, please check whether there is any problem with the parameter settings. After the connection is established, the program can be downloaded to S7 -200 in the CPU.
In this example, I didn’t use PLC. You are welcome to pay attention to me. There will be a series of courses in the future.
