Internet Explorer Mode in Microsoft Edge

Some websites are designed for use with Internet Explorer and have features that modern browsers like Microsoft Edge do not support. If you need to view one of these sites, you can use Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge. 

Most websites work better on modern browsers. Support for Internet Explorer ended on June 15, 2022. It is recommended to use Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge only when necessary. For more information, see Learn more about Microsoft Edge

To turn on Internet Explorer mode, follow these steps. 

  1. In the Microsoft Edge address bar, type  edge://settings/defaultbrowser and click Enter.

  2. Slide the " Allow website reloads in Internet Explorer " switch to On .

  3. Restart Microsoft Edge.

You can enable Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge to view specific websites.

Internet Explorer mode is now enabled. To view websites using Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge, follow these steps.

  1. Navigate to the website you want to view in Internet Explorer mode.

  2. Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select Reload in Internet Explorer mode .
    If you are using Microsoft Edge version 92 or earlier, select  More Tools  >  Reload in Internet Explorer Mode

To return to browsing without Internet Explorer mode, click "Exit" on the information bar at the top of the screen, or close the current tab and open a new tab in Microsoft Edge. 

Note: If you are using a device that is using the latest Windows Updates by your organization, you will see the "  Allow site reloading in Internet Explorer  under  " option edge://settings/defaultbrowser , but the setting may be greyed out. On managed devices, the "Reload in Internet Explorer Mode  " option will only be seen if your organization has configured the policy to "Allow unconfigured sites to reload in Internet Explorer Mode."
