Second, the installation steps of VMware Tools
1. First shut down or exit the Linux virtual machine, and then click "Edit virtual machine settings".
2. Click CD/DVD, select Use Physical Drive – Automatically Detect.
3. Run the virtual machine
4. Virtual machine - install vmware tool (I have already installed it here, so it shows reinstalling vmware tool)
At this time, there is a message under Ubuntu: Prompt to install tool
5. After installing the vmware tool, open the vmware tool and the Linux compressed package file of VMwareTools-9.9.0-2304977.tar.gz will appear as shown in the figure below.
6. Here we right-click to open with the archive manager, and then save it to the desktop (for the convenience of using the terminal to find the compressed file)
7. Open the terminal, enter the desktop directory, enter "cd desktop", and then decompress VMwareTools-9.9.0 -2304977.tar.gz compressed package, that is, enter "tar -zxvf VMwareTools-9.9.0-2304977.tar.gz" in the terminal. (Note that the compressed package name here needs to be entered according to your actual situation, like mine is VMwareTools-9.9.0-2304977.tar.gz.)

8. After entering the desktop, enter: cd vmware-tools-distrib/
cd vmware-tools-distrib/
9. After entering the vmware-tools-distrib folder, continue to enter: sudo ./vmware-install.pl
sudo ./vmware-install.pl
Press Enter all the time (pay attention to the statement of each response, individual versions requireReply yes manually).
10. Until Enjoy, –the VMware team appears as shown in the figure below, it means that the installation is successful, and then manually restart the virtual machine
11. After restarting the virtual machine, we found that the menu bar - virtual machine - install VMware Tools has changed to "reinstall" , which also indicates that VMware Tools has been successfully installed.
