Case Appreciation | Kashgar, Xinjiang: "Large charging treasure" takes root in the Gobi, making new energy power supply more stable

In Kashgar, you can be in a secret place and see the magnificence of the Pamirs, K2, and Muztagh, the "father of icebergs"; you can walk into the ancient city of Kashgar and feel the style of the Silk Road in the streets and alleys; you can visit the Taklamakan Desert and start a game about adventurers; you can also shuttle between the Gobi and deserts and enjoy the green energy charm of photovoltaic + energy storage.

In June, when I walked into Huadian Xinjiang Kashi 10MW Photovoltaic Storage Power Station Industrial Park, under the blue sky and white clouds, rows of white energy storage cabinets were neatly arranged, like "large charging treasures", which were continuously storing electricity and energy. This project is Huadian's first new energy project in Kashi, Xinjiang, and Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture. The energy storage PCS systems equipped all use KSTAR GSE2500C-MV energy storage, converter and booster integrated machine, with an energy storage capacity of 10MW/20MWh.

Since the project is located on the edge of the desert, the harsh environment such as high temperature and strong wind and sand has put forward extremely strict requirements on energy storage equipment. In order to ensure the long-term, high-efficiency and stable operation of the photovoltaic storage power station, KSTAR GSE2500C-MV energy storage converter booster integrated machine was selected for the final project after multiple evaluations. This product adopts the integrated design of PCS and step-up transformer system, which not only occupies a small area, saves transportation costs, but also is easier to install and saves time and effort. At the same time, the equipment does not derate at an ambient temperature of 45 degrees, and has a long-term operating capacity of 110% at full load. It has an IP54 protection level and is not afraid of complex application conditions such as local drought, desert, and sandstorms.

In addition, the product adopts a standardized communication interface design to facilitate system management and scheduling; PQ, VSG, and VF operation modes meet the system’s black start function requirements; millisecond-level rapid power response capability can actively provide grid support on the grid side, ensuring stable output of clean power 24 hours a day.

The former desert Gobi is writing its own green energy miracle through new energy construction. The successful commissioning of the project can not only effectively alleviate the heavy overload pressure during the heavy load period of the power grid, maximize the protection of production and living electricity, solve the problems of local consumption of new energy and regional power shortage, but also actively promote the development of local strategic emerging industries, promote the optimization of the energy industry structure, and improve the local living environment.

From southern countries to northern Xinjiang, from plateaus to Gobi, from deserts to lakes and seas, KSTAR energy storage systems are widely used in various scenarios such as new energy distribution and storage, household, industrial and commercial distribution and storage, and continue to help energy revolution with high-quality product performance. In the future, KSTAR will continue to provide high-safety, high-reliability, and high-adaptability products and solutions for different application scenarios, as well as efficient and economical full-process services, so as to bring higher value to customers and the industry and help achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality" as soon as possible.
